Came in only for my free dessert and ended up with free bread and a cup of tomato basil. Soup hit the spot after working out. Bread always tastes fab. Bread pudding not bad! My waitress was very pleasant and she refill my water glass!! Yay!!! Love how it looks inside.

I gave this place another try today, after 3 years. Service was once again bad. The seats on my booth where tore they Literally had big tear spots on the seat. We where given one napkin as we ate. Our server seemed like a nice person but got my Order wrong and seemed to busy to give good customer service. I ordered a half salad and half sandwich with no bacon or onion, yet they had both. The server was very inattentive so much that I had to steal a napkin from another table. This makes me sad because Mimi's could really be a great restaurant. The only Pro was that my Mimosa was good but that's it. The food was not good.

How fun would it be to go in at 11, wait 15 mins to be seated, order immediately, and still have no food 30 mins later (despite ordering an appetizer.) At 11:50 All people sat, who were waiting while you were, are finishing their meals. You have to get up and ask your waitress for the food. She brings you just one of your dishes.... It's cold. Walked out. So much fun. Service is about as good as having IBS. Takes forever to show up and is still sh*t when it finally arrives. Thanks a lot. Fun day.

It was once again time for supervisor (he's so nice!) to take us out for Christmas breakfast. This Mimi's Cafe location is close to our office. But more importantly, is part of a large center that has a large parking lot. It is also close to the 5 Fwy. We came for breakfast and there was no line to get in and there were plenty of available tables. Ordered a Maple Bacon Waffle to share and it was a crowd pleaser. My Cheese and Spinach Crepe was tasty and was appropriately portioned. Our server was infinitely patient and courteous. Certainly wouldn't mind coming back here. It was great for groups because there was enough variety to please everyone.

Mimi's Cafe isn't the best place to eat in town, but it also isn't the worst. It's just an average spot to come and grab a bite. Every Time I eat here, whoever I'm with has some issue with their order. The first time we didn't receive any complimentary bread (which I didn't realize until the second time I came here). Then my mom didn't get any chicken with her chicken salad. The second time we came here, they forgot her dressing. And my sisters chicken pot pie had undercooked chicken (I guess they have a major problem with chicken here). The waitress did replace my sisters meal, and they didn't charge us for the pot pie, so that was really nice of them. I usually see the manager walking around, bringing people the missing items from their meals. I'm not sure what's going on at Mimi's. Is it because we come on the weekends, and they're busy? Customer Service Although, they're pretty forgetful when it comes to completing your meal, they were always nice about it. They apologized and corrected the issue right away. Food Their menu used to have a bunch of options, now it's pretty limited. But less items do make it easier to run a kitchen, so it's probably for the best. I've only ordered burgers here, and they're pretty good, the meat is fresh and they cook it the way I like (medium-rare). The fries are super tasty too! And so are their pastries. If you're into soup, I suggest the French onion soup, it's delicious! *Tip* Sign up for their rewards program, they send you coupons!!

Came in for breakfast and notice the menu has changed again. Service was slow but soon picked up and was great from there. Waitress was polite and helpful and food arrived promptly.

Stopped by for my first time after years of passing by this place and I must say I'm glad I finally did. There food menu items are unique and delicious ". For instance, I had the Chicken Tillamooj Cheddar Chicken and it was unlike anything I had ever tasted before. So yummy. I will be having their croissants for dessert up next!

Came here with my friends for Sunday brunch. The outside and inside decorations remind me of Minnie's house in Disneyland! Very cute. Their portions are very very huge and it is definitely worth your money. I ordered the turkey club with the house salad. Took home about half my order because it was way too much food for me. The sandwich was delicious and I loved the side salad that came with plenty of cherry tomatoes on top (my fav!) All of my friends enjoyed their food and we had a pleasant experience. They also have complimentary muffins and coffee near the outdoor seating area. Delicious!!

I went this past Saturday about 11:00 am ish. The service was terrible. It seems like they are too busy and need more waiters. Our food took a long time and she didn't even come once in between to refill our coffee. Once we Asked for a refill - we received cold coffee. The food was good but the service killed the experience. It appears as they are understaffed. This place used to be great years ago. Not sure what happened. I am definitely not going back.

Mimi's was a family staple when I lived in the area years ago. I remember happy dinners here with my parents and close friends, plentiful bread baskets, jazzy music, cheerful staff and a wide selection of good food. What happened? In an attempt to make the restaurant seem more French, they got rid of so many favorites, and the diverse selection that made Mimi's such a crowd pleaser in better times. I was feeling nostalgic with some friends last Sunday and found myself here for brunch. We kept flipping the two page menu back and forth, asking each other "this is it?". What's worse is the items we ordered (an omelette, eggs benedict, savory waffle and quiche) were good, but not great, and certainly not stellar enough to justify the change in menu. Serving sizes seem smaller, and the food is prepared and served with so little care. They only bring out the complimentary bread upon request and it is a fraction of the size it used to be. Perhaps my biggest problem with the new Mimi's, as many other Yelpers have pointed out, is the lackluster service. I remember the days when the waitstaff here was energetic, when their energy mirrored the big band music playing in the background. These days the staff seems lethargic and detached. We waited over twenty minutes for a table, and HALF of the restaurant was visibly empty. We walked past so many unoccupied tables on the way to ours. Why?! It's baffling. Many of the tables were covered with dirty dishes, but others were perfectly set, and looked ready to be filled. My other gripe was that the waiting area felt dirty. They offer complimentary self-serve water and lemonade, which I thought was a nice touch. However, it was all in such disarray, with dirty styrofoam cups littering the table and floor, I didn't even want to touch it. For the love of crepes, please restore Mimi's to it's former glory! I'm sad to think of what will become of this Atwater classic if it continues down this road.

Mimi's corporate sell-off killed their menu. Food compromised in all three areas: prices up, food quality and portions down. I was really shocked by the breakfast I had this morn. Could have made better at home. Only gave it two stars, because servers and service were good, but food wasn't.

We waited for almost an hour for the food to be served, so we ordered for Calamari as appetizer and Omg!! A $9 appetizer is only 10 pieces of ring calamari, really?

(Dined 08/11/14 M @ 10:30am): Il est temps de petit-déjeuner au Café de Mimi! It was my day off, I had an odd hankering for breakfast, and a BOGO offer was about to expire, so a friend and I headed to the nearby Mimi's Café in Atwater Village and treated ourselves. I had always loved their freshly-baked muffins, but I rarely had an actual meal. So with laziness already settled in on this sweat-drenched humid day, we rolled in the Toaster and grubbed on some cheap grinds: Strawberry Lemonade and Diet Coke ($2.79 ea.) - After the initial diabetic shock of the sugary strawberry lemonade, all was good enough for three full glasses. As for my friend's Diet Coke...well, it was Coke. yelp.com/user_local_phot… Eggs Benedict ($9.89) - Two perfectly poached eggs, placed atop slow-smoked sliced pieces of ham and Hollandaise on a grilled English muffin. I only had a bite of my friend's breakfast, but I was sold...and the ham had a nice sweetness. The roasted potatoes smothered with the lovely herbal seasonings of savory, thyme & basil were divine and wished I had more. A ramekin of Ketchup ws provided but totally not necessary. yelp.com/user_local_phot… Bacon & Avocado Omelet with Lemon Poppy Seed Muffin ($10.49) - Two glorious pieces of crispy hickory-smoked bacon, along with two thick slices of tomatoes and half an avocado laid across the top of this fluffy omelet filled with spinach, tomatoes and Jack cheese. Although I felt it was a tad on the small size, it was wonderfully prepared with fresh ingredients and piping hot. The potatoes were the same as described earlier. yelp.com/user_local_phot… I opted for a lemon poppy seed muffin which was smaller than I'm used to, but it was delivered hot and moist. The butter melted on contact - yummy! yelp.com/user_local_phot… Service - We waited a few minutes in the lobby before we were greeted by a young friendly hostess with menus in-tow. It was such a beautiful day we decided to sit out on the patio and hopefully caught any breeze and people-watched. We were soon met by Katrina, our courteous young attractive waitress. She kindly greeted us, gave us the lowdown on our coupon, and was ready to take our drink order. Our drinks came out moments later as she was ready to take our order. Our meals came out about 10 minutes later, she was very good about refilling our drink glasses, checked on us regulary, cleared our plates, and delivered the check once we were done. No complaints here. Parking (free) - Plenty of free parking since they were part of a huge outdoor shopping center that included a Best Buy, Toy's R Us, Costco, and various other business. They had sufficient parking spots directly nearby. Atmosphere, décor, ambience - Loosely-based on a French cottage motif, the interior had elements such as French-tinged posters and products. Otherwise, the furniture was your standard restaurant style of booths and wooden tables and chairs. The inside dining area was rather spacious and not crammed at all, while out on the patio, there were only a handful of tables which made for a comfortable experience. Plenty of natural light (outside obviously!) shown through the many windows while during the evening the electric lights would then be turned on. I didn't happen to see any TVs or hear any background music. Attire - Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. Overall, Mimi's Café in Atwater Village was a nice experience and the coupon got me out for breakfast which wasn't a favorite meal of mine; good job, marketers! I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (total paid experience was around $26.00 discount and before tip). The food was good - although nothing out of the ordinary - and the portions could've been bigger, but the service was attentive and comforting. And they accepted my credit card of choice...AMEX! 4.0 STARS

Prices went up, portions have gotten smaller, even the sweet bread and bread basket slices have gotten smaller. Wait staff is always trying to upsell, I said no to appetizers and waitress continued to suggest more appetizers. Most entrees now come with "frites". aka french fries if you ask them to substitute for veggies it's an additional $1.00. I preferred the old menu with more selection and choice of sides. I give one star for the French onion soup which is always delicious. I won't be returning to Mimi's, there are so many other options for a better value.

CRAVING A MUFFIN YOU SAY??? Mimi's will satisfy. Ok it's true that the food is subpar- but you really don't come here to order a fancy meal. Mimi's is a great place for a last minute, or even late night, casual breakfast/lunch/dinner. I went for dinner with a group of people and we got seated right away. The staff is always so friendly and understanding at those pesky customers that take FOREVER to decide on the muffin they want on the side of their meal (I may or may not be referring to myself. May. Or not. Okay I am). I may sound like a muffin freak as I expand on about these delicious little bastards, but they warm them up so when they serve them to you they're all crunchy on the outside and pillowy soft on the inside. And then you ooze a little butter on it and you got an experience to remember. The rest of the food isn't great, but it's better quality than a diner definitely. With it's welcoming environment, Mimi's a good place for family night out.

Party of 4 arrived here for dinner around 5pm on s Saturday afternoon. It was Not busy at all. We wanted a spot on the patio where was 1 dirty table and 1 clean table. For some unknown reason, it took about 10-15 min to get seated at the clean table then another 10 minutes before a server even came over and said hello. The host/greeter seemed clueless and uninterested in her job. The table next to us remained dirty and after 30 min, I had to go inside and tell someone to clean it as flies were now circulating. I don't understand how they could leave a dirty table like that on the patio. Our food came out basically cold and looking old. It had definitely been sitting awhile. Our server noticed empty glasses on the table but never took initiative to refill them. When she brought new drinks, she left the empty glasses. She left our empty appetizer plate on the table long after it had been finished. A horrible experience here.

Where do I start? I come here a lot and Ive never had any problems...until my BF decided to bring me here on Mother's Day. Never again and let me tell you why. We waited 1.5 hours for our table. We ordered our meal right away and we waited another 30 mins for food to come out. When it did come out it came out cold and our plates came out in sections. For example, I ordered waffles with eggs, sausage & country potatoes. All I got was the waffles and then I waited almost 10 minutes for the eggs, sausage & potatoes to come out. My daughters eggs were cold, her sausage was burnt, my other daughter ordered chocolate chip pancakes but there was only ONE chocolate chip in them. Really? One, and they forgot their side of fruit. To top it off, my BF ordered eggs over medium but they came out worse than over easy. Gross. The white was runny. Wow! We ended up just eating everything, except the runny eggs because we waited so long and we were so hungry. Disappointed. The only thing that salvaged this complete disaster was the manager. He told us that our check would be covered by him. That was nice of him but I won't be coming back here on a busy holiday.

Service, service service! On countless occasions, I have voiced my opinion on service: it can make or break a business. A restaurant may have the best menu in the world but if it has poor service? It stands the chance of not surviving. This isn't rocket science and nor is it a complex business model to enforce good products AND service. Sadly, Mimi's Cafe missed that day in Business 101 class... Upon feasting your eyes on Mimi's, one's senses are pleasantly met with a kitschy (in the best way possible) vibe of french cottage meets Creole New Orleans. Mimi's exudes a casual neighborhood vibe but with a sort of jazzy feel that is a step up from the corner diner. With that in mind, it is expected that the service would reflect this friendly, southern charm. One word: no. My visit to Mimi's instantly began on a sour note as there was a wait on tables which is fine and wasn't the issue. The issue was that the hostess seated parties who came in after us first. Now, I don't work in food service so perhaps this has to with with the table sizes which become available, etc. Thus, we didn't complain. However, we (party of two: my bf and I) were then seated in an area which were ALL families with children and several were crying and screaming. How did the hostess think is is okay to seat a couple amongst SEVERAL screaming children? My bf already had a headache so we asked to be moved. Once at our new table, we were seemingly ignored (were they bothered that we asked to be moved?) and no one ever came to offer us water. We had to ask a busboy for water (with no ice). The water arrived... with ice. Sheesh. After that was fixed, we planned to use the free Petite Ensemble dessert voucher Mimi's emailed me (A platter of small servings with Triple Croissant Bread Pudding, Apple Cinnamon Crisp and Triple Chocolate Brownie - designed to share -- $6.99). My boyfriend also ordered a coffee. The dessert and coffee arrived rather quickly (as least they got that right) and was gorgeous in presentation and definitely fit for two people as they suggest. Each dessert was served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and chocolate or caramel sauces, respectively. The Triple Chocolate Brownie was my favorite with an intense chocolate flavor with a fudgey texture (I prefer fudge brownies versus cake brownies). The Apple Cinnamon Crisp was also delicious even though the apples were clearly of the apple pie nature versus fresh apples. The Crossiant Bread Pudding? Meh. It sounds like it would be incredible but it was sort of bland and dry. Tasted like a simple French Toast. Overall though, the desserts were quite tasty. The issue? The service continued to lack. I have a feeling that because we were simply getting a free item and coffee; Mimi's thought we weren't worth the service of a table actually buying a large meal. We were NEVER checked on, the waters were NEVER refilled, and the coffee? That was NEVER refilled either and was lukewarm to begin with. To top it off, when the receipt arrived the dessert was charged and we had to get a new one printed out comping the free dessert (even though this was mentioned the second we ordered). Can they get anything right?! To be blunt: the service was terrible and this definitely ruined my experience despite the food tasting great. Now, it should be noted that I just called Mimi's and spoke to Richard (a manager) who was apologetic and took my name and number saying my information will be in the manager's office so that I can be "taken care of" whenever I return. However, he didn't state what exactly that entails so who knows the extent. Overall, Mimi's has a cute ambiance with seemingly great food but the service is definitely absent and needs a refreshment. Hopefully the staff cracks open some business books and takes adequate notes...

At one time mimis cafe used to be great I'm talking about free bread (warm and toasty) with huge nice glasses of water , great food portions with great taste. Whatever happened to the good ol mimis cafe a person could walk into for breakfast, lunch and dinner? Oh man those days are looooong gone. I came in today for breakfast, and the selections were very limited no wraps, no french toast, no breakfast sandwiches, no hash browns. All I saw were crepes , benedicts, steak and eggs and some waffles, that menu is horrendous. The reason I have 2 stars is because the customer service was barely good The quality of this place has really gone down like I had mentioned no more free bread, the satin folded napkins are gone, now it's just 1 cheap napkin with a fork, spoon and knife that Dennys or ihop would have, the food portions are small and expensive. I'm sorry to say but I would not be returning to mimis cafe. I was a customer for over 10 years. Time to find a new place

This was the first time for me at this location and I was disappointed. To the manager who was working on this night. Do a walk Through to see how the location looks for your guests as they would see it. there was a lot of Debris under our table. the bus boy finally came over and cleaned the dinning room as the guests where eating. Not a good thing to do while the guests are eating. Rule of #1. Greet the guests as they enter, say Hi and smile. Its costs you nothing. Don't have your guests waiting for 10 minutes just to get a drink order. rule #2. It should only be 2 minutes from the time the guests are seated, its was not busy this evening. The manger was holding a meeting during the dinner, Do it before Hello. I was not happy. I would also like too add that the interior of this location can use some cleaning. Your lamps that you have above where your guests eat are very dirty. Black show everything. All your lamp shades are very dirty.

Tried Mimi's Cafe for the first time because it's near Costco. Not a very good experience. 1. Under cooked bread (which I let go but someone else complained about it) 2. They gave me something similar to my crepe order but it was NOTHING like what was described on the menu. I found diced sweet ham instead of roasted chicken...I kept waiting for spinach and mushrooms to appear but it never happened. 3. While waiting, I checked on Klein's plate and UNFORTUNATELY and SURPRISINGLY found 4 coiled thin wires on the fries and he found another one under the rosemary stem which he thought just part it . It could be worse. I'm glad they weren't on Karter's plate since he finished his meal fast! That I didn't let go. Well, thank goodness for a good night sleep, I conversed with them nicely. Employees were apologetic, at least, and nice enough. Manager took care of my meal. *I heard from someone in the kitchen that about 10 plates had some problems* Be careful. Check what's on your plate.

Mimi's cafe is a place that you stumble upon after exhausting all other opportunities to eat anywhere else. Time: 9PM Purpose: Dinner Food Quality: The french onion soup was too salty. Not in that cheesy, onion-y, frenchy sort of way. I mean it tasted like the cap on the salt shaker fell off while they were seasoning. It probably tastes better if you're a smoker. The Chicken Tillamook Cheddar Mac was decent. The chicken itself was nice and tender. The sauce and flavor was a bit too salty and runny. It was a very basic dish of seasoned chicken, pasta, and cheese sauce - not exactly worth the price. A little bit of garnish would go a long way. The Chicken Pot Pie was too peppery. It offset the taste and made it slightly annoying to eat. The chicken itself was cooked well though. But ultimately, the over peppery seasoning ruined the blend of vegetables and sauce. Service: Service was good. No, it was great. Everyone, including the manager, was extremely nice and courteous. We were given a couple of muffins as a "Thank you" gift for coming for the first time. Verdict: Even with the food being sub-par, I wouldn't mind coming here late at night if there was nowhere else to go.

We love Mimis for breakfast, fast service, great prices and excellent service. Today we had a bit of a hiccup with food, but our waitress took care of it. The manager Mateo was gracious and came by our table to make sure we were happy. Mateo and the staff get 5 stars from me.

Went in an hour and a half before they closed and no one was at the host station. I waited ten minutes and then went to find someone to seat me. A server led me to a table and told me he'd be right back with a menu. There were only four tables seated in the restaurant, but I didn't see the server or menu for five minutes. Total of fifteen minutes in the restaurant at this point and I don't have a menu. The server walks by several times, smiling warmly at me, but not dropping off a menu. Finally, I stopped him and asked for a menu again. "You didn't get one yet?" "No, I didn't." He goes to grab me one, drops it off and then says, "Just so you know, the kitchen closes in five to ten minutes." I let him know that I had been there for 20 minutes and just now getting my menu, so to tell me that I have to hurry up and order is the rudest thing to say at that point. I mean, it was a really funny move to do that, but also frustrating because I was going to grab a quick salad, tea and get out in less than half an hour. I told him to charge me for my tea and got out of there. Side note (and not Mimi's fault): I almost got mugged in the parking lot after all of this, which was the perfect icing on this cake. Giving two stars because the tea was fantastic and ice cold. xoxo

Unless your an out of towner and don't know where to go, you must trust me when I say to please avoid eating here. There is zero service effort and the food is mediocre at best. No ambiance. Bad music. Bad everything. I hate being negative, but me along with around 3 other lunch parties waited for around 30 minutes for someone to greet us, and this is with an empty restaurant. I use to like this place and hopefully they'll it together so I can go back. For now, Buh Bye.

Now I know why this business has only 3 stars.. Waiting for over 20 min to be seated on a table that has been empty since we got here and now that they seated us we are waiting for someone to acknowledge us. Never ever coming back here although it's tempting to just get up and leave after all this wait.

Service was slow and inefficient, perhaps they were not expecting the volume of diners on the Memorial Day Holiday. It even seemed like a potion of the restaurant was not being used. I had the French Pot Roast which was very good. My friend had a bowl of soup which came out about 5 minutes after my entree and the waitress forgot to bring the bread. Also had to wait an unusual amount of time for the cashiering process.

We have our thanksgiving here every year. They always run out of something and this year about half the menu was out. It's nice scenery but that still doesn't make up for the lack of food. They gave us a small discount. Last time we're going here for thanksgiving. Panda inn here we come hehe!

You know your day isn't going to be a good one when you start off with a horrible breakfast... My friend highly recommended this place and told me to get their eggs benedict. So I placed a togo order of eggs benedict, ham, egg, and swiss waffles, and strawberry creme waffles... let's just say that the minute I came home and saw that they had forgotten the hollandaise sauce, I knew everything else wasnt going to be good. Luckily i live 10 min away and my hubby went back to pickup the sauce because who can eat an eggs benedict without the hollandaise!!! After a long 20 minutes of waiting and staring at my food, hubby comes back and we start to eat our semi cold breakfast... ugh. The ham egg swiss waffles were soggy and gloopy. The side order of bacon were soggy as well and theres nothing i hate more than soggy bacon. My eggs for the benedict were over cooked and the hollandaise was watery and lacking much flavor. The strawberry creme waffles were nothing more special than a box of instant waffle mix. $32 down the drain... The only reason they even get 1 star is because they gave us 4 muffins for forgetting the hollandaise. I cant speak for their lunch or dinner menu but i highly reccomend you to not order breakfast from here!!!

My wife raved about this place, so I thought I try it out (because I'm a extremely picky eater). The food was excellent, our server Fernanda was Awesome! They did not have one of the items I ordered, so they did a fast substitute and it was discounted on our bill. Service wasn't a problem at all! They have a new customer.

I went this morning to have breakfast. I was told a 15 min wait for party of 6. I am a long time customer, been going there about 6-7 years. But this time they gave me a table that seats 4 just opened the side flaps and made it look like 6 people can fit. I politely said no to that table and asked to be given a bigger table. Well. This is where the problem began. It appeared that they simply didn't care about me. The host began to sit everyone else that arrived after me and before you know it. No more tables available. I waited another 15 mins and when I asked how much longer. I was told they were "working" on it. What does that mean ? I arrived 30 mins before everyone else behind me and they were all seated ! I asked the manager how much longer and his response was the same. How unpolite and unprofessional. What they should have done is accommodated me first then worry about everyone else that had arrived after me. What ended up happening is ..., I walked away and went to a different restaurant. No customer sevice at this place ! Hope management reads this. I will tell all my friends and family of this incident !!!!!!

I come here for only a few things... Love love love their french onion soup!!!! I have never been able to get enough of their bread and butter.... Sometimes I will order a sandwich but Im not a huge fan of chains, so I try to avoid them...I make an exception for their French Onion soup

Strange visit. When we got there, we were told there was a twenty minute wait; lots of empty tables. They explained there were only three servers present covering two spaces of the restaurant. Yet, there were two receptionists. We never saw a manager. We were actually seated in five minutes (someone left). Server was great but it seemed strange to be told that the only cheese available was cheddar cheese and no pot roast. It was before 6 P.M. on a Sunday. Ironic when they are promoting their new brie and mushroom burger. Also being out of pot roast took three items off the menu. Server was great; fast and efficient. The food we ordered was very good. Hence the four star review. Lemon herb brick chicken with cheese gratin potatoes and salad was great. Chicken cooked perfect; not dry. Very moist. The salmon on another order did not smell fishy and tasted great. With the food this good, we wish the restaurant could get their act together. It would be a shame for it to go the way of Mimi's in other states.

The three star review for this Mimi's Cafe is pretty spot on but my experience grants just two. The problems I encountered included: not having any roasted or grilled Chicken, not telling me about it until I tried to order it, and giving me a burnt on the outside still raw on the inside steak instead of the Medium I ordered. Theres much more, but I think this is enough. Cheers, Walt Ps the last time I was here, I ordered the salmon and it was raw by a huge Margin. The manager took care of it this time.

This place used to be great...when it first opened. Each time I've been here, just down hill. We came today for Easter and I know it gets busy but everything we ordered just looked so bland and boring. The decor and music is great but everything else is below average which sucks because I hardly ever write bad reviews. I try to make the best out of the situation but from what I've experienced before and today, I'm just no longer a fan. The only reason I gave two stars was because our waitress was so polite and attentive even during such a busy time. I made it a point to give her more than 15% on the tip. I really like the theme of Mimis so I hope that they realize what they portray on the menu doesn't even come close to what you're actually served. Please revamp the place, hire better chefs or beware!

10:55am on july 30 Pretty bad service!! The lady at the front told me the wait would be 2-3 minutes, their was no one waiting ahead of us. After waiting in the lobby for 10 minutes, I walked up to the lady and told her I can sit outside if their weren't any seating. She said "great! Ill let the server know your outside". I literally waited 24 minutes and the server never came, to even give me water. -.- So I just left.

We go to Mimi's all the time. We live in the neighborhood and we have kids. So love it or hate it, Mimi's is a part of our lives. The food is ok. It used to be really affordable, but over the last few years they have tried to make it more hi-brow, but they are using the same cooks. So the food is hit and miss. Sometimes it's good quality, but often dry and overcooked. The biggest issue with Mimi's is the wait time. It's rarely packed, but I come here with my two young children at 7pm and we won't get our food til 8pm or later. Tonight they came back 15 minutes after our order to tell us they RAN OUT OF HAMBURGERS. Has that ever happened? I mean what the hell. At the end of the day, Mimi's is for kids. It's like an average g-rated movie that throws in some funny lines for adults. You go there cause the kids menu is good and they love it. Get the wait time down, Mimi's. My kids need to go to bed.

Came here with my co-workers for a quick breakfast. The food was okay. I think since it was empty service could have been more quick/attentive. Eggs Benedict (3)- Smoked ham, poached eggs and creamy hollandaise. Served with red skin potatoes. Eggs were runny, hallandaise sauce was okay. Ham was really thick and tough! But overall it was an alright benedict. I wouldn't come here again unless it was a group thing or someone invited me for something. Their scratched up plates make me scared to eat. I know or hope they are scratches, but it just seems dirty to me.

I've been wanting to try this place out for over a year and never took the time. Today I decided to stop in to Mimi's and I'm so glad that I did! Whenever trying a new restaurant I always order the eggs Benedict if it's on the menu and Mimi's Benedict was devine! The eggs were cooked perfectly and the potatoes were delightfully seasoned. I had their original mimosa and it was the perfect little touch for a lovely brunch. I will definitely be coming back!

Just moved to the area and decided to try here for breakfast. The parking was awkward but that's not their fault. The inside was clean and nicely decorated bit it kinda reminded me of a chain restaurant, like Olive Garden. The service was ok, unlike what I've read from the other reviews. The food was good but certainly not memorable. I would return here but there was nothing in particular I would need to return for.

Horrible ,pictures on the menu are not what they're serving. And when they get your order wrong they act as if it's your fault.it seems like their chicken and steaks are straight out of the freezer from some bargain store just horribleI only give them one star because you don't have any negative stars or else I would give them 10 negative stars very rude waitresses

Mimi's Café? More like Meh-Meh Café. I never knew that Mimi's café was a French-themed breakfast place. It didn't dawn on me until our server greeted the wife and me with "bonjour" that I started to notice the posters of Napoleon and the Eiffel Tower as well as the "rustically-painted" window panes that looked like some kid had colored them with a sky-blue Sharpie. I mean, this place is as French as French fries... and it felt like a glorified Denny's that was designed by Papa Smurf. Although Mimi's professes that they serve breakfast all day, not all breakfast items are served "all day". If you want poached eggs or eggs Benedict, you need to come before 2 PM for this location. Fortunately, we arrived just before the deadline and the wife was able to fulfill her poached egg craving. So the wife ordered the low-carb eggs Benedict which consisted of two poached eggs over sliced ham served with hollandaise sauce and fruit that included two orange slices and two cantaloupe wedges. It was a decent dish for under $7. Just wish that they could have either pre-cut the fruit or provided extra utensils so that the cantaloupe would have been easier to eat without cross-contamination from egg yolk. As for me, aside from bacon which I can eat all fucking day I am not a big breakfast person. Therefore, I went for their 3-course lunch option where I opted for the corn chowder, Dijon chicken with mashed potatoes and spinach side, and ice cream sundae topped with caramel for $9.99. Price-wise it was a good deal. Taste-wise, not so much. While the corn chowder was consumable and the ice cream was standard ice cream, what irked me was the Dijon chicken. You see, the picture depicted on the "special" Mimi's Bistro lunch menu had this wonderfully golden deep fried piece of crispy-looking chicken served atop pillowy mashed potatoes and a creamy Dijon sauce. However, when my meal came out it looked nothing like the picture... kind of like how people photoshop their online profile pictures... Aside from the way it looked, what made the dish an epic fail was that it had this really strong Dijon sauce that overwhelmed everything to the point that I was drowning myself in iced tea. As for the chicken, it was far from golden and crispy, but rather dull and soggy. Fortunately, what saved the meal was the service where our server did a bang-up job refilling our beverages, specifically my iced tea. It's definitely the service that made me round up and give them 3-stars. Sadly, aside from the service, the best part of the meal was receiving the four free muffins that we got for signing up for "Mimi's Club." However, after our meal, I think it's time for me to flag them as Spam. ---------------- Photos: Low Carb Eggs Benedict: yelp.com/biz_photos/TC6_… Dijon Chicken: yelp.com/biz_photos/TC6_… ---------------- Fun Facts: * Mimi's Cafés are owned by the Bob Evans Farms Inc. based in Ohio. Horrible breakfast selection. Tiny and poor. People want a bread basket for breakfast but lunch. Get it together Mimi's. I told the waitress are you guy's called Mi's.... She said "ha" I said "You guy's have half the menu from before, so I figured half the name, not Mimi's just Mi's. She didn't laugh. Sorry Mimi's, I won't be coming back any time soon. Not my problem, but yours.

It wasn't a zero, but the menu is unattractive and unoriginal, and the food is mediocre. Not terrible. Just very very mediocre. What's worse, however, is the attitude of the management, and the service my wife and I experienced. When asking if I could make a side substitution, the waitress got the manager, and the manager did not miss a beat to tell me that a meaningless substitution would result in an increase in price. The attitude appears to me to be, screw the customer whatever chance you get. Don't accommodate, squeeze 'em. As for the waitress, she removed my plate as I was still eating, assuming I was done, no questions asked I can only say, stupid waitress. Considering the tons of superior alternatives nearby - superior in price, service, attitude, and quality, my wife and I will never set foot back in this restaurant. Oh, I forgot to say that we had to pull teeth to get them to honor an online coupon on my wife's iPad, as they initially insisted it needed to be printed. By the way, we had 2 bad experiences here. That's enough to guarantee that we will not return. Foxy's is not far away, (a superior Coffee Shop in Glendale), and Souplantation is within very short walking distance, as well as a sushi place, and other places across the street. My advise: Don't waste your time or money on their mediocre food, lousy service, and bad attitude towards their customers. Best of luck competing for customers, Mimi's. You lose.

Pretty good Mimi's café. Ive been to a couple, and this one didn't disappoint. Service was good for our party of 6. Food was very good as well. We came for brunch. I had their potato cake eggs benedict. Very good. So it came with a potato cake on the bottom, spinach, tomato, egg and hollandaise sauce and a side of fruit. Very tasty indeed.

I feel like I am in Paris. With French music playing the background, such serenity. Attention Yelpers they have all-day happy hour everyday for 5 bucks for glasses of wine. Who wouldn't love that! Lol! Of course I am a wino so I would lol! Any ways I ordered the butter crossiant breakfast sandwich. Which is super yummy and comes with great flavor. I always come in for their mimosas and food but mainly for drinks and breakfast because it's soon good. The only downer it is a bit expensive than the traditional chain restaurants but I think it is something worth experiencing. Laters Yelpers.

Mimi's Cafe is a wonderful breakfast place. I was running late as I am not a morning person. My friends were seated at this large round table in the center when I arrived. Our breakfasts were delicious. Eggs Florentine Benedict is my absolute favorite. Everyone else's breakfast looked so good, I want to go back soon. No parking worries here. Mimi's shares a huge parking lot with a mall. So you will always be able to find a parking space at Mimi's Los Feliz.

I've experienced some horrible service before, but the one at Mimi's Cafe is definitely one of the worst I have experienced in recent memory. Came here with some friends on a Monday, and it was relatively empty, which was nice. We were promptly seated and handed menus, but then no one came for about 10 minutes. Finally our server came and we ordered our food and drinks, then more waiting happened. The people who showed up after us got all of their drinks and bread before we did. How is that possible? After about 15-20 minutes of waiting finally our drinks and bread comes out, but then we still had to wait another 10 minutes for our entrees to come out. I do not understand how the servers can be so slow in bringing out our drinks and such. It wasn't that crowded to warrant that amount of wait, it's so ridiculous. The food was great, My friend and I both got the Le Burger de Madame, it was about $11. It had bacon, a fried egg, lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles. I ordered it medium-rare and that is exactly how it was made. As I enjoyed my burger, the thought of the long wait momentarily faded from my mind. In the end, the food is great, however they are under new ownership so the menu has changed quite a bit. Also, the service is terrible and extremely slow, so come here with caution.

Great place for breakfast. I don't know much about any other meal but the breakfast is really good. Portion size is big and the food is full of flavor. The service was great. The wait can be long on a Sunday but where is it not.

I remember come here for on another occasion for to get my waffle fix done. I had a ok experience. This second time I've come here, I had a coned beef hash benedict, and found it quite disappointing. It was flavorless, the egg was slightly overdone, and the hollandaise was a bit runny. I'm not sure if I'll be coming back here anytime soon after having food quality like these. On the upside, the service we received was good, and it's a nice touch to have greeters at the front door to open the door for you.

We visited this place today and man.were we impressed! The food was amazing! I had the avocado bacon burger and it was done exactly as I asked for it (medium well). The bread was sourdough and toasted nicely and the fries were done shoestring style and all very crispy (just how I like it). My wife had the spinach quiche and she loved it (and she is HARD to please) and her side salad was just how she likes it. My burger came with a FREE apple pie which besides being so hot that it burned my tongue a also very good. Hers came with a lemon poppy muffin, also free. The decor is also very nice, like a New Orleans French Quarter theme and the jazz music soundtrack is also a nice touch. Our server Lindsey was very fast and friendly. The staff is dressed fine dining style. also a nice touch. Mimi's Cafe is fine dining and moderate prices. The food is amazing and the service is top notch. I just wished there was one closer to us so we could visit much more often. Its near Griffith Park.

Absolutely horrible experience. Went in for breakfast and it wasn't that busy at all, maybe 10-11 tables of people with 4 wait staff and multiple busers yet it took 10 mins just to get sat down and help. After that it only got worse. The customer service from our waitress was horrendous and she pretty much took our order and wrote us off after that. Never came back to see if there was anything we needed during waiting for our food (which took about 30 mins) then took another 30 mins to get her back over there which she just brought the check not asking if we needed anything else at all, nor even paying attention to us. We saw her multiple times looking over at us and walk the other way and even tried flagging down other people but they seemed more concerned with their own conversations then their job. The food itself was ok, not really that great, the turkey sausage was terrible. The toast was cold and had no jam or anything. The menu didn't have many items in general that sounded that great. I will not be going back to this location or any other Mimis after this experience, nor ever recommend it.

I had the roasted chicken and artichoke penne. I was deciding between that and the chicken Parmesan. Wish I would have gotten the Parmesan instead. The roasted chicken penne was just ok. The sauce was a little different and the pieces of chicken had a weird taste. The waitress actually told me it was her favorite. But then I tried the chicken Parm..... OMG! The chicken was so moist, perfect seasoning and just the right amount of the bread crumb coating. The service was great considering that we were a party of 6 during dinner time.

I've only come here for brunch or lunch and it has never been crowded! Great customer service! I've always loved the quiche (by far the best I've had with such a flaky crust), but the last time I came I tried the breakfast sandwich on a croissant and OMG deeeeelish!

I've always been a fan of Mimi's up until recently. The experience was a comic of errors with the service and food during breakfast service. The server was slow at taking care of us. The muffin came out cold as we requested it to be warmed up, the beverages took some time to get to our table, the corn beef hash Benedict came out but the eggs were hard not poached. Had to re do the order while my friends toast also came out cold when it was brought to the table. It's really unfortunate that they have inexperienced staff. The only nice thing was that the chef dropped the food at our table and apologized. The manager did not offer anything for the mishap nor apologized. That really too bad because I like Mimi's but the service needs huge improvement.

Should've Yelp'd this morning before choosing our breakfast destination. Seems like multiple folks have had similar service issues. Recommend you skip this place...read on if you want to hear about the disappointing service issue at this place. Hmmm...time for breakfast out. Multiple choices in the area, but let's be green. Going to shop at Costco, so let's only make one stop and try Mimi's since both Mimi's and Costco are in the same lot. We enter the restaurant and are quickly greeted. The hostess shares that it will be a 5-10 minute wait. Looking around, we see one other family waiting. OK...it's a Sunday, they're probably busy. We find a bench to wait our 5-10 minutes. We get situated for about 1-2 minutes and then we are called. GREAT! That was a short wait. We are escorted to the back of the restaurant and there's an open table....and there's another...and then another! What was with the stated 5-10 minute wait? There are plenty of open tables. We sit.....and that's when the wait really starts. There are wait service staff and bussers flying in and out of the room. .....And we wait.......more staff members walking in and out, but all refusing to make eye contact with us. And we wait.....finally someone from the host staff notices us waiting and asks if "we would like some thing to drink while we wait"...that should have clued us in to what "awaited" us.....And we wait......And we wait.....And we wait....finally we succeed with making eye contact with someone...."Oh, I'll send your server over right away".....And we wait....And we wait.....At this point, I make the suggestion to my DW that we go over to Costco and get some Hot Dogs. We laugh, but I'm serious.....Why do I want to spend my hard-earned dollars for a restaurant that has no clue how to efficiently serve their customers (this is a full service restaurant right? Did I miss the Order Here/Pick Up signs when we walked in?) ....And we wait! And we wait.....FINALLY our server appears and asks us if we are "ready to order?" (REALLY!?!) We've been ready for 15-20 minutes. What do you think lady? Unbelievable. Food was average. Service horrible. Our server's tip was inversely proportional to the unacceptable wait time. She probably is wondering why she got zero...that is if she ever found her way back to our table. Simply DISAPPOINTING.

Their Mimi's Chop Salad with blue cheese is delicious. It never has disappointed me. I tried their pumpkin spice muffin and it was delicious. I usually get their butter milk spice but when I heard pumpkin spice. I had to try it. It was totally worth it. I have been dining here for a long time and have never had a bad meal. If you looking for a family friendly restaurant with great customer service and great food,

The food and service were generally good, but the "authentic frites" (french fries), which their menu seems to be centered around, were "meh" at best. They were limp and oily and not as good as they were claimed to be. There's no way they were double-cooked. Gimme some "frites" from a frozen-bag next time. The menu is also really condensed with not much variety.

Mimi's Cafe , were do I begin! The best thing about this place beside some of there food , is the great customer service you get from the servers. They are so friendly and just seem happy about there job! I definitely enjoy great customer service, if a restaurant has good food and great customer service its says a lot. This Mimis is right by a shopping center , my family and I decide to check it out awhile ago and the food was good, they do have some good dishes. It's a very cute , clean restaurant inside. They have free bread / carrot raisin& baguettes. This Mimi's is one of my favorites because of the staff here as soon as the hostess greet you , you feel welcomed and the servers as mentioned. The managers seem to always be walking around , checking out tables making sure everything is looking good. They seem a little stressed out at times but I guess that understandable with how busy this place gets. I suggest going during the weekdays not weekend as weekend they get extremely busy. If you want top notch service check this place out during the week days. And try there French toast is pretty good. Mimis you have great staff as far as the servers. Mangers not so sure, I guess they have a lot on there plate. Check this place out.

What a disappointment the "Ham Feast" was! How very different it was from what they advertised on their website for holiday meals to go. It was bad enough that we had to wait over half an hour to pick up our order; even tho we had a specific time set by Mimi's to collect our dinner. The quality of the food is what I can't forgive. That, and all the errors. The feast was supposed to include ham, pecan-sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, muffins, au gratin potatos, and a pecan pie. When we placed the order, weeks in advance, everything was confirmed. NOTHING was said about being out of any items. When I called to confirm the order on the 23rd, *then* we're told that Mimi's was out of the sweet potato casserole... and that they'd told us when we'd placed the order. No, they didn't!! I told them if one of the promised items was missing, then I wanted either a substitution or a discount. I was told I'd get broccoli instead of the sweet potato casserole. Fine. When we picked up the order, we had to wait over 30 minutes. Worse yet was when I saw the pie was a pumpin pie, not pecan. No one had told us in advance. When I questioned it, only then was I told that Mimi's was also out of pecan pie. When I'd asked for broccoli as a substitute for the missing sweet potatos, what I got was *two* orders of broccoli, and no green beans! Are you kidding me? I had to have them send back the extra order of broccoli, and get me some green beans. And the beans weren't a casserole as described - they were raw green beans with butter. Overall, the experience was one big disappointment! The "au gratin" potatos were some sort of greasy casserole, but they were hardly au gratin. The pumpkin pie was of a very low quality, and obviously mass-produced elsewhere. I don't know who cooked the food we ate on Christmas Eve, but it sure wasn't the usual chefs at Mimi's. I would have expected this low quality from a low-priced diner, not from Mimi's! Warning to anyone else who's considering using Mimi's for holidays - you will NOT get the same quality of food as when you eat in their restaurant. It's overpriced, and pretty sad food.

Kudos go out to Mr. Shumovich, the manager at the Mimi's on Los Feliz in LA. I went in to get the bread pudding to go but sadly someone in the corporate office discontinued this tasty dessert. However, in this case Mimi's still seems to provide a great manager. Mr. Shuomovich gave me to pumpkin spice muffins on him! His staff really seem to appreciate him as a boss and I can see why. His kindness made my day. His kind act inspired me to "pay it forward" and do something nice for someone else. Thank you Mr. Shumovich.

CATHERINE!! That's all I need to say. That girl is a gem in your restaurant and she is definitely going to continue making your customers come back. Her customer service was exceptional!!! From the moment we were sat down and asked for our drink order to the moment we had to pay and get our check she was attentive to every minute of our experience. She was very personable with everyone at our table and even gave us some great recommendations when we were ordering. At the very end we had mentioned it was my grandmothers birthday and she brought out a dessert and even sang with my family Happy birthday to my grandma. Thank you so much for this great experience at your restaurant, Catherine really made it a memorable one.

This was my first time coming to this restaurant and I have to say I really hate the part that when we came in thru the door it took the staff 5 minute to realize that we were in the door, one of the bar tenders came to seat us, I ordered a hamburger and some onion rings and I have to say the onions rings sucks, I ordered a WELL DONE burger n I GOT a medium well done burger I AM never coming back.

I was brought here against my will. I had been here one time before and something about the experience made it so that I never wanted to return. The cost / benefit -- didn't seem to me a good value. I like a good value. Anyway, like I said, sometimes you go with the flow of a group and it's against your will and you get to confirm what you already knew. The food was edible, but over-salted and not fresh, inspiring, or made with love. My napkin smelled before I had a chance to use it. There was a lot of smooth jazz to accompany the sounds of shrieking, untamed, invisible toddlers. There was one that almost took out our waiter as he delivered our food. It was a highly stressful experience that I would not recommend to prisoners of war.

I have eaten here many, many times. There have been times when the food and service were excellent. There have been times when the food was good but the service just plain sucked real bad. There have been times when the food was just okay and the service was just okay. Going here is really hit-or-miss, could be great, fair, or poor. It really seems to depend on how nice the wait staff is feeling on any given day. They need to wise-up since they charge a high price for just plain food. Norm's service is soo much faster and friendlier, and the food is almost the same really. But hey, they serve alcohol to help keep the people down, plus they have a few fancy decorations, BFD. I wish a Norm's would open up right next door and show them how to do it right!

They have a super cute patio. Too bad my 8-pound dog wasn't allowed on it. Got turned away.

I'm so sad that this Mimi's changed their menu completely, we used to come here often, and now stay clear.....bring back the former menu, or the one before that, or even the one before that....

I have gone here for my birthday lunch for the last 6 years or so and sadly every trip it's just a bit worst they removed most of there core items and salads that i enjoyed we stopped by yesterday at about 1 pm places wasn't to busy but we were stuffed in to a small 2 person corner both and our server was Marcia who seemed very nice ... As they took our order everything seemed fine then we noticed everyone getting there food before us ... She never checked back with us after the order was taken for refills or anything else about 40 mins goes by and finally the hostess drops out food off .. Our sandwiches where far from hot and our fries were a rubbery mess... Not wanting to make a big deal out of it and start my birthday off with a bunch of stress we just eat it ... Manager comes up and ask however thing is ... Again didn't want to make a fuss ... Not long after we have empty cups server comes over picks up plates and leaves no refills for us or even offered dessert that I had planned to get when I walked in the door she then just dropped off the check and walks away again ... So unfortunately we tipped her according to the service we received... My husband left his hat in the booth and we went back in to find it tossed on the floor and the server giving us a dirty look ... I was really wanting her to say something so I could explain how she had fallen short of the service we expected and for a long while why we would go to Mimi's in the first place ! I understand with a change over in management and workers things are bound to fall short but at least get some happy uplifting people who want to go in there

This was my first time at Mimi's at this location and I would have to say I was very disappointed. Our server was LuLu (spelling?) and I've never received such poor service before. Although she had a kind personality, she was not attentive. First, my friend ordered a brownie for dessert, and LuLu did not inform her that the restaurant had ran out of it until she brought over my food. She should have informed my friend the moment she knew, so my friend didn't have to stare at me while LuLu went to get her a different dessert. Second, she got my order wrong. I ordered Le French Quarter and requested to have the Thousand Island dressing on the side. When I got my order, there was no Thousand Island dressing anywhere to be found. I'm really lenient with servers and the first two are forgivable but my third reason is unacceptable. Within the night, we only saw LuLu TWICE! When she took our order and to give us our check, after we hunted her down. We had to flag down another server to give us water. LuLu never checked on us to see if we were doing okay. Working at a restaurant myself, I can understand that sometimes we get busy or something slips our mind, however, although it was a Saturday night, the restaurant very mellow and slow. It should have been manageable for LuLu to have given us quality service. I'm a good tipper but I also base tips on service. At the end of the night, I only left her a 10% tip and to be honest, that was much more than she deserved. I will not waste my time or money going to ANY Mimi's Cafe ever again.

We've been coming to Mimi's for years but it's been going downhill. The food is pretty good. The service, however, is very poor, as many other reviewers have noted. Also, the chairs have tears and are dirty (they should be reupholstered or replaced), the floor is dirty, and the women's restroom is horribly filthy. We asked for the basket of bread and butter when we ordered but it never came. We had to ask a busboy to get it. The rooms are crowded, with tables much too close together. As one reviewer put it, it would be nice if families with children would be seated in a specific area away from non-children parties. Overall we won't be returning except with my elderly mother who doesn't notice the surroundings and likes the food. Hopefully, management will take note of these issues and improve the atmosphere and cleanliness of the restaurant.

Came here with my wife, daughter, and a gift card. From the looks of the new menu they're trying to become more "authentic" with French cuisine. This was my first experience with the new menu. The food was decent...not bad, but not memorable either. I had the salmon with lentils. My Caesar salad did not come with any dressing. Was it the new menu? Nope. They just forgot about the dressing. Then my daughter's butter and Parmesan noodles came out...without the butter and Parmesan cheese. Seriously, how did these dishes leave the kitchen the way they did? Parking blows here...be warned.

Yelp says closes at 11PM, door says 10PM, yet as I approach the door at 9:43PM I see 3 groups inside eating and the front door is already locked from anyone fresh to come in. Great customer service!

We'd stopped going here because the service and food was just awful. That was two years ago. A friend wanted to go, because the place had changed their menu. HUGE MISTAKE. It was 11:45, the place was almost entirely empty, and we stood there for 15 minutes until someone grabbed menus and nodded to us to follow them. I said, "Please, we'd like a TABLE." We were taken to a booth. I politely explained we needed a table because my back is whack at the moment and I wanted to sit on a nice hard chair. Tables were all around us...empty. No, we had to sit in a booth. I was about to ask why, but decided, "Screw it," since obviously the guy wasn't going to budge and my irritation was starting to rise. Ten to fifteen minutes later, the female server arrived. THE WOMAN DOES NOT SMILE. I make it a point to smile, greet the server, ask them how *they* are, then give my drink order. She was glad we also knew what we wanted to eat, as well. I began to ask about the Mimi's mailing list offer I had in my hand, but she yanked it out of my hand and stalked off with it, without any comment at all. My lunch mates were equally shocked at how rude this woman was being. We ordered the tomato soup. Ten minutes later, we're told they're out. Uh, an invisible crowd came in and ate today's supply? I didn't heckle the server, just ordered the corn chowder instead. Fifteen minutes later, the cup of chowder arrived. A white cup on a white saucer, no crackers, no anything to make it look less institutional. It tasted okay for soup that came from a can. The unsmiling server eventually brought our sandwiches. The cheese I'd requested for my "La Femme" was missing, and she made no mention of taking it back sp said cheese could be added. I asked her to please take it off the check. She didn't, until I insisted at the end of the meal. I had *wanted* to try the apple crisp, but not only was she still unsmiling, she wasn't upselling -- didn't even ask about dessert. This place is NOT worth what they charge, especially if you get things with chicken there. The chicken was dry and tough. Fortunately there was a little mayo on the sandwich, or it would have been inedible due to dryness. My stomach is very unhappy with my choice, but that's on me. I should have tried something different, sans chicken. Mimi's is trying to be a lot more "French," but all they're doing is actively furthering a bad French stereotype of unwelcoming rudeness, the refusal to listen to their customers, and selling food that just isn't tasty at all. I've had MUCH better food almost ANYWHERE ELSE, and while I don't usually gripe about cost, this stuff was VERY poor quality for what we spent. If our server was having a bad day, that's one thing, but ALL the servers were like that, I noticed. No smiles, just rude. Well, hey, Mimi's...you can SHOVE your rudeness. I will NEVER be back to any of your locations, especially since no one there knows the difference between a table and a booth, among other things.

Okay I'll give it one star for the fact my nephew did not like his breakfast burrito even thou he did eat half of it, but who puts brisket in a breakfast burrito? The waitress was understanding and removed it from the bill. 2nd star just for the muffins.. I really can't say anything wow about his place.. it's an upscale IHOP, or Denny's. I'd rather eat at a ma & pa diner to be honest. I really want to like this place.. I just don't.

Laissez le bon temps rouler - right over us vegetarians! The single star is for one reason only - they have a brand new menu and the veggie burger option is NO LONGER AVAILABLE. Madames et monsieurs, this is a faux pas. I went in and sat down with a wonderful French Quarter veggie burger in mind. I had had one at a different location not a month before. This is a putain step backwards, mes amis. A damn shame, because breakfast here isn't bad.

My GF and I went for a late night dinner on Saturday night. She ordered the cobb salad. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. At 1am she woke up with food poisoning. I called this morning to let the manager know and his response was "There's a flu going around". We will never eat here again.

Have been here in the past with my family. Used to like it but this place is getting worse and worse-cutting favorite items and reducing portion size to increase profits. Tonight was the worst. Wife ordered one of the most expensive items (steak) on the menu $17+. No indication of weight on the menu but expected more than 5 oz of meat. It was 5 thin strips of steak less than 1/2 inch thick, one to three inches long Is that a steak? Service was inattentive and amateurish. Delayed refilling coffee and reduced the amount of bread though they were not busy at all. Will not go again.

Always wanted to have lunch or dinner here, when shopping from Los Feliz Costco. Yesterday we were done shopping and went here foe lunch. It was Ok, and I wasn"t expecting much. Desserts were yummy! Parking was an issue because it was Sunday and shopping from Best Buy, Toys R us,... and Costco.

Used to really like it here until I recently went and the menu shrunk down ALOT. I usually get the seafood Alfredo but it was taken off the menu along with a ton of other plates. Left early and didn't even finish our leftovers. LAME :/

This place has changed over the past few years. I went there last week with my mother and we were very disappointed. The service was very slow and awful. The servers pass by and pretend they didn't see or hear you asking for help. The food is below average. The sandwiches are expensive for being the size of kids meal. The lettuce on the Caesar salad was soft, old and discolored. They had even made a mistake and overcharged us on the bill. I will never go back there again.

Well, as stated in my previous review, the onion soup is indeed to die for. They have unfortunately changed some of their dinner combinations. Had the salmon dinner with lentil and cooked spinach on the lentils. I am not sure the combination of salmon fillet with cooked lentils and spinach is very palatable. It just did not go together very well. The previous combination of salmon fillet with brown rice and broccoli is MUCH better and much more palatable. Service is as always very good and everyone working there is very friendly.

Came here for lunch with C.R. and S.Z. after we did the Color Run 5K LA! This Mimi's is in a large plaza which makes it easy to find and also provides lots of parking. The restaurant is quite large and seems clean and well maintaned. Service was great--our server was very friendly and was actually pretty jealous of us since she had wanted to participate in the Color Run but had to work instead. S.Z. ordered the Avocado BLT Omelette: Garlic sautéed spinach and fresh diced tomatoes topped with hickory smoked bacon, sliced tomatoes, jack cheese and avocado slices. It looked great and she enjoyed her meal. C.R. and I both got the Bistro Meal, where you get three courses (soup/salad, entree, and dessert). For my first course, I chose the Corn Chowder, which was delicious and just what I wanted. For my entree, I got the Golden Chicken Dijon: Crispy chicken breast topped with melted Swiss cheese, garlic spinach and honey Dijon sauce, served with mashed potatoes. How can you go wrong with this entry? While I agree with Richard K. that it looks nothing like the appetising picture on the menu, I thought it came out well and enjoyed it, although it was a bit heavy. For dessert, I got their Ice Cream Sundae: vanilla bean ice cream with your choice of chocolate, caramel or strawberry sauce, topped with whipped cream. I got mine with caramel sauce and it was mmm delicious! So not diet-friendly, but whatever, I just participated in a 5K, so I earned it, right? The food would probably be closer to 3-3.5 stars, but since I had a good time here with my friends after a fun 5K, I'm giving them 4 :) Tip: they give you a 10% discount if you have AAA membership

Our family decided to go to Mimi's on Thanksgiving day. We had heard good things, generally, about the food, so off we went. Big Mistake! What a terrible, horrible meal, that was, unless you like a Mush Meal!! Turkey shreds over a tasteless mushy stuffing; overcooked mushy green beans; mashed, over-mushed potatoes and sweet potatoes. I had this image of a cement mixer backed up to the kitchen churning out the mush and filling up 100 gallon pots after the opening valve was turned to the on position. The desserts were limited to two - tasteless pumpkin pie and some salted (and) over sweetened pecan pie mixture! It took 45 minutes for the food to show up, a short time, considering the cast of thousands, waiting to partake of the joyous (?!!) meal at the 'fine' price of $18.95!! Not worth it at 1/3 the price. A very disappointing meal for our family of eight!

I've gone to other Mimi's Cafes and have been pretty happy with the level of service that is provided. I can't say that this is the case with this location. To start, the hostess staff was absolutely terrible. Upon taking our names to be seated they proceeded to tell us that it would be about a 20-25 minute wait. Well 20-25 minutes later they opted to tell us that it would be about another 20 mins or so. I saw them do this to several groups that were waiting. One group was given a time of about 20-25 minutes and ended up waiting almost an hour. Three different groups left because of it, and the staff looked thoroughly confused as to how to accommodate these people. Once we were seated, the service was not much better. Our server was less than friendly and it took her at least 10 mins to get to us. The food was good, no complaints there. However we asked for coffee and that too took time for us to get, and what made matters worse was the fact that the cups we received our coffee in were all dirty with coffee stains on the outside. Quite honestly at that point we figured if we asked for new cups it would take another 15 minutes to get another cup of coffee. The food as I mentioned was great, and I'm normally not that picky in terms of my silverware or plates, but geez, the dishes looked like they had been in a fight with the silverware in the kitchen, all scratched up and looking dirty. Needless to say, this Mimi's is sub par at best in terms of service. Parking is terrible as it is a heavy traffic shopping center with a Costco and Best Buy on the same lot. I think it'll be a while before I spend any more time waiting at this Mimi's.

Where do I even start so first I ordered my son Mac and cheese it came out looking like crap I asked the server if it was microwaved and with no shame she said "yes" What The Hell Do You MeanYes?!! I didn't come to eat microwaved food.. My hamburger was pink after I had told her I want it WELL DONE over all I will never ever be here again!!

Awful.. Food was descent but our server was awful!! We came in for soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. It took him a good 15 minutes to even greet us, 35 plus minutes to get soup and a grilled cheese sandwich then another 20 minutes to get the check! I'm a server so I understand but Jesus don't just take our order and never show up again!! Never again!!

We used to like this place for a quick lunch or dinner when running errands at Costco or Best Buy. It was a good standby, nothing amazing or particularly delicious, but just generally good for a quick bite. One of the main reasons I always returned was for the complimentary french bread and carrot bread they served each table when you arrived. That carrot bread is delicious. Unfortunately you can tell that they have seriously cut back in the past 6 months. The service is terrible now. Really slow, and the bus boys seem to be more helpful then the actual servers. They changed the menu around, and the servers play it up like its an awesome new menu, but its not really. And the serving sizes are much smaller, and only include one side with an entree, whereas before I remember being able to select two (ie: mashed potatoes and a vegetable). The last time we visited, I asked about the carrot bread and our server said they don't bring it out anymore unless it is requested. So I requested it and she brought some out. Tasty. But tonight I asked the same thing and our server told us that they serve it only when requested, they will only give you a small personal serving and you have to pay for it. I was kinda surprised and told her the carrot bread was the reason we come back. She laughed and said everyone says that. She said she would bring me some...but I never got it. I asked again and she still never brought it. Pretty disappointing. I know it's lame to be criticizing a low level chain restaurant because they wouldn't give me carrot bread, but it really makes or breaks it. There's nothing spectacular about eating there, so the bread added some value to me, and obviously to others too. We gave Mimi's another shot and it disappointed again, so we will find somewhere else in the shopping center to eat from now on when we're looking for a quick inexpensive meal.

Mimi's Cafe is good, but it isn't anything special. I'd put it in the same general class as Marie Callendar's, Coco's, Carrow's, and even Denny's respectively. I can't put it above or below any one of them, it's literally right there with them to me. This isn't a bad thing; it just means that Mimi's is just your plain old, mainstream, commercialized café/diner food. If I'm there, or if someone wants to go eat there then I'll eat my food and I'll socialize, and if I never return it wouldn't bother me one bit. The service was excellent from the moment I stepped through the doors. We were immediately helped by the hostess, and our waiter immediately came to our table and showed us much attention during the entire meal. The restaurant is very clean, well decorated, and the vibe was very comfy. Our food including our salads all came out in a very timely fashion. And the bathrooms were clean (you'd be surprised how many places can't make this claim!) I had the "French Quarter Burger" which is an avocado bacon cheeseburger on garlic parmesan sourdough. The burger was tasty, but the burger didn't hit me and make me say, "OMG, this burger is the bomb!!!" It just tasted like a normal tasty avocado bacon burger. My girlfriend ordered the "Roasted Chicken Crepes", and those were delicious! If I ever come back to a Mimi's café, I'd order the crepes without hesitation and be totally satisfied. Mimi's has good food. I'm not knocking them, I'm just pointing out that they aren't some elaborate French café. They are along the line of any typical franchised diner/café, and that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I've always passed by this place whenever I'm near the Costco area or heading downtown. Upon entering, you get a home-cozy feeling and is greeted by a host who seats you right away. The servers are nice and will always tell you what the specials are and the soups of the day. I personally love their clam chowder and their original salad. Pretty decent serving and you will for sure get full. If not, they have some desserts that will fulfill you. I especially love the trio dessert they have that lets you try bread pudding, i think a chocolate lava cake and some sort of apple gallette of some sort. It's a must try when you come for your first time or just having a sweet tooth.

I'm going to start off my saying that I ONLY come here with my mother. Why she chooses to drag me here is beyond me because we rarely enjoy our food. We have a much better time at the IHOP on Glendale Blvd. Came here about two weeks ago for breakfast and I ordered my eggs over easy with a side of their home fries. My eggs were about 90% raw when I got them and the potatoes were also undercooked and raw. The food was cold, which makes sense since it was RAW, therefore no cooking was involved. Our waitress was nice though, however, I don't plan on coming back here again.

There are so many great places to eat in LA. This place is NOT one of them. Like all Mimi's this restaurant is bright, colorful and cheery on the outside. In the inside, I found it a bit depressing. The restaurant was tired and worn out with a heavy air about it. The service didn't make things much better. Our server seemed distracted and busy although the restaurant was quite empty... The food....ugh...over-salted, over-cooked, loaded with gross fats. They have caloric information listed next to each item on the menu; this, I'm sure, does not work well for them at all. I was hard-pressed to find an entrée item that had less than a 1000 calories! I finally settled on the Broiled Salmon. If a dish can put a person to sleep, this would be the dish to do it. The salmon was dry and plain, and utterly boring. The rest of our meal was not much better. Mimi's trio of zucchini parmesan, chicken tenders, and artichoke dip was greasy and pretty sad to look at with its anorexic chicken pieces on a plate of other almost equally sad fried stuff. The Crispy Parmesan Chicken at 1820 calories was no treat. It was mushy, soggy, saucy and salty. The corn chowder was clumpy and salty, the BBQ Pork Quesadilla...dry and salty. The only thing that I really enjoyed was their complimentary bread. Their carrot raisin nut loaf was admittedly delicious.

The food here was disgusting. The vegetables on my omelette were just about rotting and the meat on my girlfriend's plate was WAY under cooked. I can't believe the server even brought it out after seeing it. Definitely never dining here again and I suggest no one else does either!

So I decided to have lunch here before shopping at Costco. I love their onion soup, it was kinda salty but it's ok. The pot roast I had needed more flavor. I'm not coming back here. I'd rather go to iHop or Norms.

Went for Breakfast. WOW why are most of their breakfast items over 1000 calories!? It scares me to think about their lunch/dinner menus, though I probably won't be going for lunch and/or dinner. Service was okay. One of my "eating companions" (as she put it) had to ask for another silverware because there weren't enough for the five of us. However, the waitress was friendly and came out quickly with our foods, remembering who ordered what. Blueberry Muffin: very, very doughy. I like to have a crunchy "muffin top" to break off before I get into the center of the muffin, but the entire muffin was just soft and doughy. Don't get me wrong here: the muffin was good; it just wasn't my style of muffin. Honey Bran Muffin (no, I didn't eat two muffins - are you kidding me?! Each one is like 250 calories! My friend just wanted me to add this): too sweet for her preference. I will agree and say that it tasted very syrupy. Avocado BLT Omelette: the omelette itself was a little better than just okay. I think the avocado was the best part because of how fresh it was. The cheese on top wasn't melted enough, but the bacon was crispy and crunchy. The omelette was only a little warm, as though it'd been sitting on the counter for a few minutes. Side of Red-Skin Potatoes: a little on the salty side. I wasn't happy that they gave unequal servings of the potatoes for my "eating companions" and me. For instance, half of my plate was potatoes, while only a quarter of my sister's plate was potatoes. Why?

I didnt like this place at all. First of all the menu is limited. It is almost nothing to choose from. The service was slow and the people in that place treated us like we were 2 homeless who came to very expensive restaurant asking for leftovers. This place is cheep from inside out, starting from the service and ending by their food. Maybe I am too sophisticated thus.

This is a standard Mimi's Cafe. Located off the always-busy Los Feliz Blvd., it's in the same lot as a Best Buy and Party City. I find Mimi's 2 Egg Breakfasts to be the best and most reasonably priced menu item. The 2 Egg Breakfast includes juice, 2 eggs, potatoes, a HUGE muffin of your choice and whichever add ons you want. Their lunch items aren't memorable.

The french onion soup was wonderful as was the french bread and the ambience, however I find the entrees to be terrible over priced not to mention the fact that you are not allowed to substitute side dishes on them. The salmon was wonderful but the lentils were beyond disgusting not only to the taste but to look at as well, my mother's dish didn't look like chicken at all and my wife was forced to order the overly pricey steak dish because they were out of the pot pie, seriously? Would only recommend this place for the soup and bread.

If I would have yelped this place last week it would have gotten a solid four stars from me. Too bad I was too busy to yelp last week. Went there today for brunch, the food was awful. I mean terrible. We ordered two salads and they were horrible. I imagine we would have been happier with a McDonalds or Wendy's side salad. Service was efficient and friendly. Food was disgusting. I even asked the hostess if they hired a new kitchen staff. One star for service, another for the coupon but honestly, it was so bad I still feel like I got ripped off.

I drove past this place on my way to Best Buy about 67 times in the past ten years. Then one day I stopped in for breakfast. So f*cking good! The muffins are the hottest, fluffiest, and most delicious muffins I've ever had. I appreciate Mimi's for the rest of their menu and excellent service, but it was the muffins that won me over.

Like a Denny's but ever slightly more upscale. Father ordered a club sandwich. I ordered the French Quarter. Both used sourdough bread. My sourdough bread/bun was garnished with garlic and parmesan cheese then toasted, which was a nice touch. The burger was cooked well. Father enjoyed his sandwich. No complaints. Solid, but not outstanding.

I used to work at Mimi's in Orlando, FL and although I HATED working there, I just had to indulge in a sweet/spicy memory! The low fat blueberry muffin was just as delicious as when I left it! It's INCLUDED with purchase of a salad! What a deal!! I got the SMALL blue cheese, walnut, strawberry salad and it was huge! Great flavors! Their bread basket is so good! Fresh baguette and carrot raisin cake! YUM!! Service was great, the restaurant itself is super cute! Needless to say, my memories aren't so sour now!

Don't bother. You'd probably do better at the Costco food line. Service: horrible. nice waitress but we had several problems with our order. We told the expediter (the person who delivers the food) but nothing was done. Waitress never returned. A manager later delivered 1 of the 3 things we asked for and then no one ever came back. The management should at least be capable of managing and following up when the rest of the staff is too busy, incapable, slow, etc. The manager was just as bad as the rest of the inept staff. Not worth your time or money.

This place has incompetent staff that had been told at the beginning that I had our 2 small dogs with us to be seated on the patio. 15 minutes later, the rude manager told us that the 'policy' regarding dogs just 'changed,' when in fact we have dined on the patio several times before. Needless to say, we had to leave after having ordeing and anticipating our orederd brunch. Needless to say, it is not Pet friendly and they have lost our business permanently. -1 Star for lack of adequate customer service.

Sorry Mimi's... we were not happy with your services. I came here on a Saturday night thinking I could get a quick bite to eat before my movie. It was raining, and the place was not really busy. I wasn't sure if this place was just under staffed that day or what, but the services was not up to par. We ordered, and got out food, but never got our drinks refilled, and we had to hunt down the waiter for our check because we were running late for our movie (this was with plenty of time to eat and relax). Maybe... I'll give it another try...

This place has sooo much potential. I honestly think they need to fire their whole cooking staff. I don't know whyyyy my boyfriend and I continue to come here but we do every once in a while. I guess I just hope it will end up being like it used to. Mimi's was my moms fav restaurant growing up. But this place fails. I've always been in customer service and was a server for a couple years so I really don't give servers a hard time. The last time we were here I sent my food back because my noodles were hard as a rock and literally ate the bread they bring to your table. I was so disgusted. The server was nice and gave me two free muffins as a consolation to my dinner being repulsive. I recommended driving on by this spot and eating anywhere else.

This used to be one of my favorite places. It was a great place to get something light in a pleasant atmosphere. After a completely awful lunch today, I will never be back. It has turned into a very low quality place for the price. You could do better going to Denny's or Sizzler, and that's pretty sad. One of the former highlights, the buttermilk spice muffin, wasn't even worth eating. Never again.

I went there on Saturday... awesome food and nice service!! I took the 3 course meal - I think this is the best deal anywhere. Bom Appetite!

We came here with low expectations. I know Mimi's is a chain and I have eaten at other locations before so I knew what we were getting into. That said, it was still the worst breakfast I have ever had. Tropicana concentrate orange juice. Coffee tastes like the freeze-dried stuff. Bacon was so wet, limp, and so undercooked the possibility of putting it into my mouth did not even cross my mind ( yelp.com/biz_photos/TC6_… ). Gray turkey sausage that was probably boiled 36 hours ago then reheated in the microwave ( yelp.com/biz_photos/mimi… ). Absolutely atrocious food across the board. Nobody here has any standards or even the slightest modicum of culinary capability. Do yourself a favor: go to McDonalds and save yourself 20 bucks. Your chance of getting food poisoning is much lower there.

This place used to be great. Disappointing. My wife had the fromage burger (really! how about cheese burger) and the burger was just OK and the french fries were cold. The waitress was fine and had a new batch of fries made up. I ordered the salad with mixed greens, blue cheese, walnuts, cranberries and other ingredients. It was tasty, but on the small size for a half salad and it was the full size. The bread (zucchini bread and warm roll) was excellent and complimentary. It is too bad. This restaurant has an excellent formula and they putting profits above putting out a great product. They also stopped offering a lunch menu with a number of discount priced options that offered combos that were very good deals.

Eight of us visited Mimi's Cafe around 9:30pm on 06/29/14. The service that we received was terrible! First of all the server came and seemed quite annoyed that we were there "late". She told us with an attitude that we need to hurry up and put our order in because the kitchen would close at 10pm. Even when I gone to establishments close to their closing time never act the way she acted. She felt that since we were there "late" she didn't need to provide service...we didn't get proper utensils, refills, or plates for our bread until we asked other servers to provide it for us. When we asked to see the manager she smirked and said sure and then started laughing with another coworker as if she doesn't give a damn. When the manager came things changed but still not to our expectations. When we go out to eat we have one simple requirement: good service and yet Mimi's failed terribly today. After reading other recent reviews I see this is an ongoing problem. I will be contacting their district manager to make sure this never happens again. Because this is our once a month spot and I am not going anywhere else.

I had lunch there with my sister and i couldn't understand how they could mess up on my vegetable omelette? We were getting things from their breakfast menu and it really took a long time to come out too the service and the food was terrible.

Been here five times. Had bad service for three of them. Sorry Mimi's but you 1. need to either hire more servers or retrain the ones you have, and 2. improve the quality of your food. It begs to be French. Is definitely not. It's a poser for people who don't know any better and have an extra three hours and patience to deal with RUDE servers who take forever. I gave the server a coupon which she lost. When I got the check and asked her about the coupon, she said (with major eye rolling) "I didn't get no coupon!". What? Seriously? Wow. Never going back there again.

We chose to host my baby shower here in their private room. Making the reservation was easy, the staff was helpful, the managers answered all of questions, and remembered us each time we came in after our initial inquiry. The day of the shower, everything went smoothly. The staff was friendly, 2 different managers that they had on duty came in to check and make sure everything was how we wanted it and to check in to make sure we were receiving good service. The food was great, and it was just an overall wonderful experience!

Sunday, 6pm, the dining room we're in is empty except for us. Service was horrendously slow to start and lagged the whole way through. The food was fair to good but service was ridiculously poor.

Although I've been to Mimi's before at other locations, this was my first time at the Los Feliz one. We were seated right away in a booth, which is great because we have two little ones and I prefer to contain them in a booth. We ordered mimosas and our breakfast food, which all tasted fine. Standard breakfast fare. But here's what kind of ruined it for me: The waitress. Honestly, if I had a waiter/waitress who forgot things sometimes but was so incredibly friendly and apologetic - I would overlook the forgetfulness. The waitress we got had NO sense of humor and gave us the evil eye for our somewhat rambunctious little boys (they weren't running around nor were they loud). Toward the end I asked for more OJ for my mimosa and I got more stink eye. Ugh. Why do people like this work in the service industry? It did make me think about one thing. Mimi's if you are listening, here's a tip. Your employees are a reflection of your brand. Don't ruin your brand by employing lousy brand stewards. I gave this place a 3 because the food was ok and I didn't get food poisoning and if hungry, I could eat it again.

The quiche was squishy soft and filled with cheese - when it is supposed to be firm and filled with egg. The omelet was hard - not like a brick but close. The server was nice ad the manager took the quiche off our bill but I go to restaurants for food not to deal with managers.

I got the sole fillet with picatta sauce and mashed potatoes. I really liked the fish, it was cooked perfectly. The Tomato Bisque was very good, too. We had a party there, the staff was a little huffy, but they were fast. The food was good, but kind of boring!

Typical low end themed chain place that they make fun of in the movies. Like "Flingers" or "Chotchky's" from the movie Office Space. Eaten at this location half a dozen times with co-workers. Wait staff is usually like the type that are in training and are clueless. Lots of high chairs and crying babies in this location. A general low end type of crowd, with low expectations. Pros - carrot cake and muffins are good Cons - the entire experience from dealing with the crazy Glendale drivers with their leased BMWs in the parking lot, to the crying babies surrounding you at every table. Makes this generally a not so great experience.

Came here for the first time today and I will definitely be coming here more often! My boyfriend and I were served by Vivian, awesome waitress. My boyfriend loved his classic cheeseburger, one of the best he's ever had. I ordered the french onion soup, delish! So much flavor! I also ordered the fall harvest salad which was the perfect balance of all ingredients! We also bought a loaf of their pumpkin spice loaf to bring home! Well deserved 5 stars!

One word to describe Mimi's: simple. It doesn't cost you an arm or leg, the food is decent, and that carrot bread is bombay. I stopped by here recently because I couldn't figure out what to eat. They had a three course special: soup/salad, main course, then dessert. Corn chowder soup - yum! 1/2 ribs: the sides that accompany can use a lot of help but the ribs were decent and the portion was lot considering it was supposed to be only half. For dessert, apple crisp topped with ice cream. The ice cream was good, melted a bit fast because the apple crisp was really warm and a bit too sweet. As I said earlier, nothing too crazy or fancy about this joint. Quick, affordable, and decent meal. The service this last time could've used some help too though. Guy didn't seem like he gave a crap nor did he check up on us. Whatever, you can't win them all.

Wow, would have been a 2+ hour wait without reservations on Mother's Day. Luckily planned ahead and made reservations, but still had to wait 45 minutes and had to listen to everyone complain about the wait. After being told that we were next, I then figured out that if you complained loudly, they would move you ahead of other people; two parties of six that were jumped ahead of us later, we finally got our table. Management should limit the amount of reservations that they accept if they can't honor or at least come close to honoring the reservation time. I realize that Mother's Day is probably one of the busiest days to eat out, but pissing off Mom is not a good business practice. :-) Set limited menu, food was OK, small portions. Overall just ok.

From time to time I get a pregnant lady type hankering for their french onion soup. But after getting the bum's rush I may have to bite the bullet and just learn how to make my own because I am not coming back to this dump. This place is a glorified Denny's with better food and beer on par with maybe, Marie Callender's. I have been to other Mimi's locations and have always been satisfied. Its not ground breaking, mind-blowing food but it's a nice place to go with old people. So what made this trip so bad? 1.)The place is dead, but the hostess sat us at a table that was not prepped. (its not a big deal but presentation in a faux classy place should be important) 2.) Then the server thinks we are taking too long to order so she just never comes back. Another server takes our orders and a stink eye battle with the original server ensues. 3.) No bread basket while we wait. (and we looked around, the other parties got bread!) 4.) Server is on her period or has the runs because we get the pleasure of dealing with 3 different servers throughout our brunch. 5.) Server 3 tries to clear the plate that I am still eating from. 6.) We get the wrong check AND the wrong change!!!! What's up with treating us like drunk smelly hobo's who have taken off their shoes after a rainstorm in a library? We have cash money, we like cloth napkins and bread! We tip really well when you deserve it AND we possess basic math skills! Look, I am sorry I sent back the coffee but it tasted like you ran water through some old man's sock. I am NOT sorry I was speaking in Spanish to the person I was dining with, but that does not mean I don't understand English and math for that matter. AND I had no idea that there was a time limit to eat, especially when the place is a ghost town. Mimi, you almost got a 2, because the soup and muffin were good. BUT then you had to go and do me dirty; trying to steal my money... n'est pas bien

The food was okay, not anything too memorable. I had the santa fe omlette or somethinglike that. I went to breakfast with my family on a Saturday morning, and the restaurant was not to full capacity. My major problem was the service. We were sat outside becasue it was a nice day, the waitress literally took 15 minutes to ask us for our drink order and then another 10 minutes to bring out drinks, so we opted to sit in the dining room thinking maybe, just maybe, the waitress wouldnt forget about us. We place our order, nothing too hard, 4 breakfast entrees from the menu. Another 20 minutes later we recieve our food (like I said, nothing too memorable) and our waitress went on break so we had another waitress. In the beginning of the meal I noticed they hadnt brought our toast so we asked the waitress to bring it, waiting, waiting, waiting and eating and still no toeast (seriously, im practically done with my plate). Soooo, my mom flags down the waitress and asks her where our toast is and her response is "I asked you if everything was okay, remember? You didnt say you didnt get your toast" My mom tells the waitress that we requested toast and we wanted our bread, seriously what kind of waitress talks like that to the customer? Well, we finished our meal and of course before we left we made a pit stop in the restroom which was soooooo dirty!! One stall with toilet paper, no potty protector seat covers and trash all over the floor. Ohhh! And when I got up to go to the restroom I had to pass up the hostess stand and I figured out why it was soooo slow and the wait staff didnt care about the customers, because all the employees were congregated at the hostess stand gossiping!!!! REALLY!!! Im not sure if I'd come back, not after

Great bread! Great food! I just thought that when walking in & seeing a textbook at the hostess area was kinda weird....made me think that studying was more important than taking care of the guests! Anywhoot, was very filling food. I'd recommend the breakfast menu because they have an assortment of dishes to chose from.

Not bad. But not a great Mimi's. First off, I love Mimi's in general. For breakfast. A lot comes extra with your breakfast (muffin, juice, etc), and usually the service is awesome. At this location the service was pretty luke-warm. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't really warm and fuzzy either. We were there right at opening (7:00am-ish) and barely one other table was present. Seems like we might have had a little extra attention or speediness? Nope. Everything was pretty slow. Maybe they were still waking up. We ate at a Mimi's down in Torrance the day before and it was spectacular. It's not bad, but don't expect a lot. Even the food tasted ho-hum.

It just keeps getting worse and worse! I keep going back hoping that it will be the day i will be redeemed. i dont now why i want this place to succeed but i do . But they put in ZERO effort. every single time i go they EFF UP . about two months ago i went again for breakfast ( party of 3) i timed 15 minutes! 15!!! for a waiter to come take our order. The food took just as long to come and when the food came it was served on their all famous white plates surrounded by hundreds of grey and black scratches. Ever try to eat food off a plate like that ? It just ruins you're whole appetite those plates look rancid. Seriously how much does it cost to invest in some new plates? Anyways about 2 weeks ago i ordered a salmon to go and for my two sides i asked for steamed Veggies with a second serving of steamed veggies. Well i get there she opens the box and there lies a lonely piece of salmon surrounded by 7 .... Seven!!!! sad pieces of veggies. And when i say veggies i mean 7 pieces of broccoli. I give the waitress a confused look and she goes " you want more?" ... uhh ya ! . She came back and this time filled the plate with more broccoli. I asked her why they say veggies when all it is, is a pile of broccoli. And i swear to you she gave me an answer that should have made me feel bad but it was very amusing...... " Honestly this is the only thing the cooks can make properly". That was the saddest and yet the most amusing thing ive heard. I mean C'mon guys, even your own waiters throw u under the bus. Seriously you guys are at an amazing location, with a beautiful outside and a great name, and yet you guys are dragging yourselves down with below average food, disgusting plates and poor costumer service.

Stopped by on the way to Costco for a quick lunch. We had a toddler in tow, so we thought this would offer something for everyone and have some kid-friendly options. The menu sounds much better than it is. The food was tasteless, bland, greasy... We shared stuffed mushrooms to start, which were passable, but it was downhill from there. Salads were limp, veggie burger was greasy and flavorless, fries were nasty, grilled cheese oozed grease when you held it in your hand. And even though the restaurant wasn't very busy, the service was slow. In summary, life is too short for bad food.

Good comfort food. I wish that the people that work there knew something about French (so they could at least read the signs that are everywhere) but thats me being picky. Happy hour is good, they have great food specials.

Friday evening at around nine my dining partner and I were seated. We were given a menu by a waitress that wanted to tell us about their "special" seasonal menu: "It's inspired by....France!", she said. Really? Amazing, in a...er..."French" restaurant. After we were given our menus and our beverages we glanced through the menus. And after we put them down, we waited. And waited. And waited some more. For about twenty minutes. It wasn't crowded and there were at least three waitresses running around. After about thirty minutes, we got up and left. And, from glancing in the window as we were leaving, I don't think anyone noticed we left either. Seriously, Mimi's Cafe, your bread basket does not make up for this kind of crap service.

Mimi's is a chain, but there are some tasty items on the menu. The wedge salad is fresh and tasty, and if you have the patience to cut those big-a** slices of red onion into smaller bits, you're in for a treat. They're generous with the bleu cheese and the bacon, and the dressing is good. The Beef Bourguignon is darn good, a tender piece of meat in a winy sauce that has plenty of mushrooms and onions, along with decent mashed spuds and veggies, yum! The filet w/ basil butter not as good, but at these prices, you can't complain much. They also do fish & pasta OK. This is the kind of place you go to for dinner when you don't feel like cooking, but you don't want to break the bank. The place is noisy, but the service is attentive without being nosy, another plus. Small but adequate wine list, priced reasonably. At $21, the d'Oc red from Rothschild is a good deal, and it goes well with the food. If you have a Mimi's in your neighborhood, check it out.

Oh, the banality. The food is okay, the service is okay. I've gone here my fair share of times to give this place a pretty unbiased rating. And that rating is... just okay. Of the dishes I've had I've enjoyed the tossed cobb, and the turkey and brie & cranberry croissant the most. Corn chowder is very yummy albeit quite filling on its own, so just do the cup if you got an entree in the oven.

our family like the food at Mimi's until last night.. my family and i decided to have a nice dinner after a long tiring week.. my night was completely ruined after i ordered a steak with mushroom & broccoli and some potatoes.. that was the worst steak i had in my life.. i wanted to complain but my wife stopped me.. i had a couple of bites of the steak and i had a hard time forcing it down my throat.. the worst there is.. not even fit for a dog.. the napkins had a nasty smell and only after i complained did they realize how it badly smell.. i tried a couple of bites of the appetizer cake to make me feel better.. i went home frustrated not only because was ruined but also because i was made to pay $17 for a steak that is not even worth a cent to me.. i can make 10 times better steak at home than what i had.. i'm totally disappointed..

I'm going to keep this short..well kinda. No complaints about the service or the dated interior, its all about the food. Listen, if you are thinking about going to this place you must be in LA right? Well then DO NOT GO HERE! You're in LA, and there are soo many great places to eat at. I tried the roasted tomato & basil soup. chicken gumbo soup, pork sliders and the chicken tenders. Both soups were way too salty (if you even consider eating here, I bet your sodium levels are already high), pork sliders were pathetic looking but decent favor, and the chicken tenders were more like over fired tough chicken fingers. The only thing this franchise has going for itself is the basket of bread.

I came here recently, on a slow paced weekday morning. I ordered food with my friend, and we never saw our waitress until two hours later when she gave us our check. She didn't even refill our drinks, or asked us if we needed anything, and we never even saw her walking around! And even if she went on break, she's supposed to let her tables know. 3 stars for poor service

I just have to say.. horrible experience. I went here with a terrible headache, and I thought the food is gonna make everything else better.. but NO. First of all, their Thai Chicken Wrap was cold and it did not taste Thai at all. The rice was really cold. The peanut sauce was ehh. I think their breakfast menus are way better than than their lunch menus. NEVER GET THE THAI CHICKEN WRAP! AND.. I saw a spider by my window which was next to my table. 3 STARS!!

Let me start off by saying I've been a fan of Mimi's long before I signed up for my free breakfast for giving them my email address. The one close to my parents house is very nice, and around here (Southern California) I usually try to make Mimi's my breakfast joint if I have to be some place (away from home) early in the morning. Same goes if I'm out and about traveling in Northern Ca. The chain itself is a four star. This place sucks. It's not as bad as the one across the Disneyland, but then again, I don't think these people are on some prison release or parole program either. They don't have tattoos and they seem like they're sober but they certainly don't have any common sense such as refilling coffee, water, serving the food while it is still warm...you know, the basics you expect, even from Mc Donalds. Hell, yesterday I went to a Burger King when I had incredibly bad munchies (obviously) and got a burger that was so hot I had to eat it slow! And this was over there by Occidental College. Anyways, back on the failures of this Mimi's. I don't even want to try to remember everything (if I can) but to summarize: -food is sub-par, especially compared to other Mimi's -manager is invisible. this is what I like about the chain, the manager takes it upon themselves to be a part of the staff...not here -our server was completely indifferent to us, and her general attitude was that we were just going to bother her from doing nothing -this place is pretty slow. most mimi's are pretty busy. this should make the service better actually -giant chunk of onion and jalepeno in the omelet...if I ordered the "five star santa fe" it isn't cus i'm fond of nuclear power or native american art...its cus i want it spicy but these were so big they looked like they should have been on a shish (shish kebab skewer). Worst part, muffins were all cold and day old. Sad. We come here for that. Really? Lame! But its my fault...fool me twice, shame on me. At least there won't be a third time!

Can service get any worse? Waited more than 30 minutes for soup and sandwich, waitress disappeared after dropping off our drinks. Lack of staff, she was the only girl working the backside of the restaurant. Sitting in the backside of the restaurant is not a pleasant experience...it's soooo loud and have to practically yell at each other to hear ourselves. Not going back.

This place is great to have some breakfast or brunch. The servers are really nice, the cute atmosphere makes you feel like your in a small city. If you like espresso and other drinks with coffee, you'll like cafe mocha. It's pretty tasty and not to sweet! Its a casual place.

  • Kyle S.

PROS: -Cheap prices -decent portions -kid friendly -nice staff -fast service -great atmosphere CONS: -poor food quality (ex; bland chicken, similar to Marie Calenders) My boyfriend has a sick obsession with the corn chowder here. It is pretty awesome, not the best Ive ever had, but still very good. The muffins are fantastic. The food is pretty bland and "blah" but the venue is nice. The lemon mouse is really yummy.

The restaurant has a great Cajun, jazz vibe and it makes you feel at home. They have some good food too. The jambalaya is excellent. But it's their French onion soup that's not to be missed. However, I must say that we did once have an unfortunate experience. My sister ordered a burger and the wrapper was still on the cheese. YUCK! However, the manager came out, apologized and got her another one and said her order was on the house. So the staff and management are good enough. You gotta come here at least once just to see nice interior decoration.

All Mimi's are the same to me, barring service and, by extension, cleanliness. I guess personnel would be a better way to put that, but hey. In this case, I went in as a one-top (a single person eating), and I had a lunch. The food was blah, unfortunately. I had a seasonal coconut shrimp salad, which had a lot of potential according to the menu description (go writers!), but it featured mostly iceberg lettuce and it was swimming in non-gingery creamy ginger dressing. There were only five shrimp, but they were pretty big. I had only ordered water, and having worked in the restaurant industry for a really long time in my youth, I knew that tipped my waitress off that I was going to be cheap. I had intended to be cheap. Eventually I added an iced coffee, and that's when she started being cordial. I asked her if I could sit a while and work, and she was super sweet. Hence, the four stars. She can't help the mediocrity of the food. I just had bad ordering luck - it happens. However - and this is a problem - my muffin (gratuitous - I chose honey bran) was huge, moist, and SUPER FREAKING HOT. Like, it burned my lips. You wouldn't expect that, right? Would you complain? Even on Yelp? Am I crazy? I mean, HOT HOT.

The place looks nice, inviting with exterior colors that attracts. The interior looked pleasing as well, a nice lady greeted us and seated us really quick. (Nice reception people-I wish I could say the same about the food and the server)... ...The breakfast (Country fried steak) failed to impress, actually, it flunked big time -sadly, even in comparison to IHOP! I ordered the eggs sunny-side-up but I was given a runny, and sad pair of eggs-the yolk was not the typical nicely cooked sunny side up rather it was punctured as if it was off-the pan and thrown on my plate as if it was cooked by a barbaric gladiator...and oh yeah, Mr. Server - you don't dare tell me it was sunny-side up, No...No..No..No...You are talking to a country boy, I know what sunny side up, over-easy and incinerated eggs look like! The least you could do is apologize and take the darn plate politely but what did you do?!? You never roll your eyes to a customer you id*ot!!!! You were lucky I was in a pleasant mood that day or you would have tasted the wrath of God with butter and jam splattered on your face! The country fried steak needed...uhmm, FLAVOR, I'd rather eat cardboard with a sprinkle of sand!!! The gravy - tasted like flour paste sprinkled with black pepper- in other words, It looked like glue with fly shit. The best part of that breakfast was uhm..NOTHING actually, there's one...the pre-package jam MADE BY Knott'sberry farm! So ladies and gentleman, unless you have a dead breakfast taste bud or looking for an extra ordinary waste-of-money meal, go ahead and try their "Yucky fried steak", otherwise, go someplace else instead of spending your money on a FLAVORLESS plate of whatever you call it!

The prices mehh not so great. The food mehh not so great. The service, someone shoot me in the effing face. This is my third time there and the second time they've messed up well done with medium rare! How stupid are these waiters? Not great food, not great quality, not great prices I guess this was my third strike for Mimi's, if anything I might be dragged back here for breakfast after a hard workout at Griffith, but hmm even then I'd rather go to like Burger King (blegh) I don't know, I wouldn't recommend it, but if whatever food shit service and higher than average prices are your thing you're more than welcome to :P

My friend and I decided to walk to Mimi's Cafe after getting drinks at The Griffin. The last, and only other, time I was here was around three or four years ago, and I remember the place being average. My memory served me correct. This place was surprisingly busy for a Wednesday evening - service was okay - the food was decent. They have a pretty nice French Onion soup (who can resist French Onion soup on a cold night?!) otherwise I would just get a slice of pizza from Costco's.

It is classic Mimi's Cafe :) same quality food, same type of decoration. Parking is free and lot's of parking space, food is good, waiters are great. Honey muffin is super :) They don't have the omlette with asparagus in the menu any more but you can ask for it and it tastes great :)

Im not a fan of most diners, but at 9pm my mates and I were seated and served, dinner for me, desert for one and drinks for the other. Food was fine, service was fine. Definitely one of my preferred franchised diners!

So I found out about Mimi's from a recent trip to Vegas. I ate at the Vegas location twice, and appreciated the breads, muffins, and the unique twists that this place offered on its menu. This location was extremely slow in comparison to both Vegas location experiences. They also never brought us the basket of assorted breads. My diet coke remained empty most of the time, but the Veggie Burger with a side of extremely fresh fruit was top notch. The pot pie was also delicious as usual, and the price was great, coming under $10 per person on average. I really like this place both for breakfast with its fresh and warm muffins that come with your meal and lunch, I like the quality of food, and if it wasn't for the questionable service at this location I would have given this place 4 stars. Try it out, especially if you live by a different location.

Ive been coming to this location for a number of years now with some uneven experiences. Tonight was very good beginning with our waitress, Jennifer who also seated us. A nicely char broiled cheeseburger with fresh condiments and some crispy fries arrived quickly . Crabcake appetizer was well prepared with a savory side salad .Service and food were excellent tonight and the price was very reasonable. See you for breakfast soon, Mimi's.

When it comes to dining out I'm generally a bit more forgiving with service 'cause I used to be a waitress... so I know first-hand how stressful it can be. You know: "I didn't mean to forget this or that but I'm waiting on three other tables" kind of stressful. It's a hard job. With that said... I can't forgive poor service when the restaurant is more or less empty. WTF. I walked in with my family there were literally only 3 active tables--all of which were served and in the middle of their meals already--but somehow they managed to make us wait 30 minutes for our meal. 30. Not to mention our waiter (as nice as he was) completely forgot about my sister's and my stepdad's soup. He brought them out a mere 5 minutes before our meals came anyway. The food was......eh. It wasn't *terrible* but it is exactly as Bertha C. described: glorified Denny's. Except maybe if I had gone to Denny's I would have left satisfied (and for less $). I got shit excited when I saw that they had chicken cordon bleu 'cause i still can't be assed to make it myself... but I was greeted by something that resembled a KFC Double Down. The chicken breast is supposed to be lightly seasoned and the ham and cheese rolled into it, but I instead got two (VERY) salty chicken breasts stacked on with cheese and dry ham in the middle. Never have I loved eating broccoli so much. While the texture on the breading was nice, it was just way too salty. I tried some of my mom's beef bourguignon and it was delicious, but I was told it's supposed to be made with red wine and this was not. So it was more or less regular old beef stew with a fancy name tacked on. Still, I thought it was good. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing and caught them on a particularly bad night (though apart from our waiter I saw two others, so they weren't understaffed at ALL) but my first experience there sucked. I'll see if things are any better on my next visit. Hopefully it won't be my last because I do like the place; it's adorable. But if you've never been there be careful not to raise your expectations too much.

Somewhere there is a demented Disney imagineer who is guilty for decorating this place. We waited for our waitress for so long we had plenty of time to look around. Yep..they do have a dead alligator on the wall....he died of starvation waiting for dinner.

BOTH times I have gone here, I've experienced BUG Problems. Which is something I don't like to experience in places I eat. The first time, I literally STEPPED on a cockroach on my way out of the restaurant. That wasn't so great. The second time, I ordered a cup of hot tea, and as I'm pouring my hot water into my cup, it's not going- it's blocked. I open up the lid to the hot water and what do I find there? Oh. Delicious. A baby cockroach. Boiled. Into my water. The manager came profusely apologizing, telling me I could order whatever I wanted and he'd cover the cost. Hah. Yeah right. Uhm, fuck you Mimi's.

I really love Mimi's. It's walking distance first of all. I always get great service and everyone is so accomidating to my liltle niece. I have not had anything yet that I don't like although some of it just seems like fozen dinners that have been heated up. My favorite is the Chicken Pot Pie!! Oh yum!!!

for a big chain....I gotta have it. Thank the Mimi Cafe Gods for the fresh muffins and the Blue cheese Walnut Salad. That would be my last meal...along with a couple of midget hookers, a bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue, and the side A of the U2's Achtung Baby. How is that for classy?

Sister dropped by here with the fam and said that the clam chowder is salty, but the bread is awesome. There was some pasta that tasted good too, but the serving was pretty small.

We're not fond of Mimi's, nor this particular location, but well, I guess it tries its best. Mediocre food with a very mediocre staff. Busy on the weekends, okay during the week. Try to avoid Sundays, when there's crazy parking madness, especially with Costco in this lot as well - beware! Food is okay sometimes, but not always consistent.

It was pouring rain... I wanted something warm. French Onion soup at Mimi's! The gooey cheese, the crispy bread, the deliciousness of onion soup. Always hits the spot. Mimi's has been one of my favorites since high school! Their booths are so cozy and service is usually excellent. Their blackened chicken quesadillas were a great choice to start with, with a mound of sweet cole slaw on the side... only disappointment was the new BBQ pork chop (Just Enough portion). the pork was way too dry :T it's ok, Mimi. I forgive you... and I will be back very soon! FYI, I took a peak at the nutrition information while waiting for my food to come out. Stay away from the salisbury steak and the BBQ baby back ribs. 2300 CALORIES! WAIT! How could I forget. Carrot bread. Enough said. Now go to bed.

Mimi's is blandly mediocre. First of all it's not a "Cafe" . It's overpriced mass produced food, the same kind of thing you'll get at Chili's, Bennigans, or Friday's. I can't recommend it.

This place gives you the illusion of being at a country side in and the food plays right along and tastes like your grand aunt put in all the love she could into the meal. Ingredients were fresh-had a garden salad with Balsamic vinaigrette. The bread was tasty too, as if it had just come out the oven from a bakery close by. Ordered the Filet de "Soul" served with Mashed potatoes, gravy, squash and zucchini. Let me say the sole fish was cooked just right. Flaky and buttery...the mash and gravy got me thinking it was thanksgiving all over again. The manager personally came out to attend to extra questions our party had and parking was very convenient. Don't know why i hadn't reviewed them earlier but you should give them a try.

I'm judging this restaurant as a chain, against the likes of Denny's, Grinder, etc. So, compared to these other diner slash coffee shop chains, Mimi's is definitely better, in that it's not gross like Denny's, and the food's more than a little better. There seems to be some kind of French motif going. Of course it's not really French, but whatever. It beats Denny's and Norms and crap.

This is not the place for a diet. Dishes are rich, plentiful and delicious. You get warm bread with whipped butterr that is awesome... before you even start you meal. The corn chowder is awesome. Currently, or at least when I went, they are having a 3 course meal for low teens... $13, I believe. I got an appetizer (soup), main course, and dessert. A great deal and ever item was very good.

So in the 2nd grade I received a school honor gift certificate thing for Mimi's Cafe. I aaaaaalways wanted to go there, but my mom insisted it was terrible...I grew up, bf & I were at Best Buy around 7p on a Sunday & staaarving (take note, pretty much anything should taste amazing when you were as hungry as we were). Anyway, we had a choice between Panda, sushi, or Mimi's Cafe. OOOO Mimi's Cafe it looks so cute & I've always wanted to go! Little did I know... Jeez, I honestly had never felt like this (like I was wasting my life away) since P.E. in high school. First of all, we walk in & the host was looking down (presumably at the millions of reservations lolyarite) & didn't even acknowledge our presence for a good 10 seconds. Forgivable, I suppose, since our waiter was way nicer. We ordered the lamb shank & jambalaya. Sigh.... The french onion soup was okay. Not amazing, but you can't go too wrong with french onion soup & cheese. Yum. Jambalaya - pile of overcooked pasta with HUGE chunks of celery. HUGE...think 3 peanut M&M's fused together. The chicken was dry, the sausage was okay, but not enough to save the dish. My bf, unsatisfied by his lamb, wanted to switch plates. So we did. You can only take so much monster celery chunks. ;( Bistro Lamb Shank - the lamb was tender enough, but totally bland, I had to mop up the (far from creamy) gravy to get any taste. The mashed potatoes also lacked flavor & the side of asparagus was overcooked. The one shining star in this miserable play though was our waiter who was really nice & totally ninja status with the refills. Glorified cafeteria food...actually, I think the turkey mashed potato blob we got in elementary school was tastier. o.O Oh yeah & .... sigh, my mom was right.

I was headed to Costco, it was pouring rain, I was hungry and knew I should NOT go to Costco hungry decide to stop at Mimi's for breakfast. The restaurant is very cozy and clean. The staff is very friendly. I order the french toast. It arrives and looks like 4 pieces of sour dough bread that has not been dipped in egg before put on the grill. I look at it and think...Huh! I take one bite and it is sour dough bread that has not been dipped in egg. I was so disappointed that I sent it back and asked for a blueberry muffin instead. The muffin arrived and it was fine. The manager came over to see what the problem was and I explained what had happened. She listened and removed the french toast from my check. My partner had eggs and a English muffin. He said it was just ok.

Perfect breakfast place. An upscale, good quality I-HOP. You can get your omlettes, waffles, and pancakes without feeling like your arteries are clogged (I-HOP style). Plus they have a wide variety yummy crepes. I got the ham and eggwhite fritatta, which came with fresh fruit and turkey sausage and it was soooo good. It was light and tasty and the fruit was fresh and ripe. The staff is always friendly and the manager even comes around and asks if you need anything. The round booths are the best whether you go in a pair or with a large group. Its a must-try for breakfast.

Its a cute restaurant but I didn't really like the food. Its plain diner food but a little better - I mean Denny's doesn't have quiches or really fresh muffins. But their burgers are plain. I think its meh. Just meh. Its good for group parties and the prices aren't too bad - they're average.

Went to Mimi's this morning for breakfast. It was the first and last time I will be going. At first the people seemed very nice. We were taken to a table right away. After we placed our order It took over 20 minutes to get the food. A person who came in an ordered after us was already eating by the time we got our breakfast. When the eggs Benedict arrived you could see the egg wasn't cooked. The white of the egg was clear and runny. On returning the item and canceling the breakfast I was taken by the lack of concern by the waitress. If anything she seemed to avoid our table.

After an entire day at the zoo with five hungry children, my friends and I just wanted something casual and child-friendly. Mimi's fit the bill. We were seated instantly, the children were given crayons and a kid's menu with very complex games to keep them occupied for hours, our drink orders were taken and delivered seamlessly, and two baskets of yummy sourdough and banana bread appeared magically on the table. It was so efficient. Our waiter was also friendly and very patient with taking the children's orders. You know how children order: they keep repeating themselves in a singsong voice until it sounds like they want 21 spaghettis and 17 strawberry lemonades. It only costs a dollar to add on a salad or soup to your dinner, so I got a French onion soup. It was really good for a dollar and not too salty as is the norm at busy restaurants. For my entree, I had the Garlic Shrimp Spaghettini. It was too much food, even for me, with eleven giant shrimp in a thick marinara sauce over a mound of pasta. The marinara sauce was a little too sweet for my taste, but I think it would be just right for most American tastes, as I've noticed that the bottled sauces sold in stores here have the same amount of sweetness in them. For a chain restaurant, I was impressed by their service and efficiency. The food was good, the waiter checked back on us frequently enough, and everyone had a good time.

I went in for lunch had the french onion soup and parisian shrimp salad. They were both good although the salad barely had any feta on it so I had to order extra for a charge of course. The service was just ok. My boyfriend had the Mimi's trio and I felt so bad for him because it was terrible! The chicken strips were tough and chewy, and the zuccini was bland. The chicken didn't taste fresh at all. The ranch sauce and the marinara tasted watered down. I can't believe they have that sampler marked on their menu as a "signature dish". I don't know why people would ever go to this place, we will never ever ever be going back.

Do not go on a Sunday after church lets out. It is packed and they'll try to seat you in the back by the bathroom. No thanks! We opted to wait since it was only two of us and we saw a couple getting ready to leave shortly, after we told the hostess we'd wait. Thirty minute wait and we're seated! Our waitress was a such a doll and came right up to our table to take our drink order. Two coffees. She brought them right out, along with bread. They have a pretty decent breakfast and lunch menu. I decided on breakfast and went with the crab and avocado omelette. It took a little while, but I can't give them a hard time as they were packed! It finally came out and the crab melted in my mouth and the avocado complimented the omelette perfectly. My friend ordered two scrambled eggs with turkey sausage and she loved it. I tried her sausage (heh!) and they cooked it evenly and the juices were a flowin' out of it. If it weren't for our wonderful waitress, I'd drop the stars to a 3 because it's good, but not THAT good. Overall, though, you get enough food and the coffee is fresh and hot. Just try not to go when church lets out and don't wait TOO long.

I had better times at the cafe. This time I had it for dinner and it was sorta salty. I don't know but everyone at the table wasn't feeling the food. I only really go there for the muffins, anything else, your on your own.

I love Mimi's. Very much. However, this location is very hit-or-miss, and is more often than not a miss. I've been there with the family holidays (which are very busy days), and getting a reservation. But the service is consistently mediocre. Seems like there's not enough staff for the amount of people they serve. Last night I was there with a girlfriend and our server greeted promptly and asked for a beverage order. At this point, I was alone and waiting for my girlfriend to meet me, so I said I'd wait to order. She arrives, and we order our food (she orders scallops with asparagus ravioli and I order from their special three-course dinner menu...french onion soup, Santa Fe pasta, and a dessert of my choice). Before the waiter ran away I had to butt in with my wine selection. Girlfriend wasn't ready, so he said he'd check back in a moment. 10 minutes later our soups came out, and we had to keep the waiter from running away so my friend could place her wine order. Fast forward to our main courses: mine's fine. But I couldn't stop feeling that Cindy's food was missing something. Toward the end of the meal, I mention "hey, weren't scallops supposed to be on top of the ravioli? Or did I misunderstand and they're ground and stuffed into the ravioli?" We ask our waiter, who runs to the kitchen and yells "DO SCALLOPS GO ON TOP?!" and next thing we know the manager comes out. In very broken English, she explains the scallops were prepared, but they were forgotten and left in the kitchen. Cindy wasn't offered any kind of price break for the missing seafood, but she ended up being satisfied when her request for an "I'm sorry for the screw up" loaf of carrot cake was accepted. Oh, and turns out that Cindy's glass of wine was left off of the bill. Intentional? Who knows. If you go to this Mimi's, go because you like the food. Don't expect great service.

This particular Mimi's is a dud! I've been to several of their locations over the years and have always enjoyed my food. So when a friend suggested we have lunch at the Atwater Mimi's I was expecting to repeat my past experiences. Not so. The food was soggy, overly salted and lukewarm. The presentation was awful. The iced tea was watery and tasted nothing like tea. I think I'll stay away from this particular location.

I was introduced to Mimi's in VA, and have to say if you find the right dishes you will love it ! For me the Quiche Lorraine, served with a muffin, salad and fruit.. Simply bliss, some over dishes are 3* granted, but you find that with places that have large menus. Their prices have come down, and they now offer healthy sized portions on the menu too. So after you give up fighting your way out of the Best Buy car park, stop in to Mimi's for a bite, it's so worth it!

This place is warm, friendly, courteous and very service oriented. It helps that the food is also delicious. I took my parents, who had never heard of it here last Saturday morning and they were delighted with the wide choice of menu items, prompts service, and low prices for what they consider to be high-end, upscale food. My Dad said, "It's a nice restaurant, but they feed you too much." His way of saying, this place is pretty good! My mom picked up the check and said, "You two are a cheap date." One downfall is that the parking lot is a zoo, mostly due to a nearby Costco. We didn't have any trouble finding a spot near the restaurant, but it took a while just to get into this busy shopping center.

Only waited 20 minutes for a table on a Sunday at 11am. I'd say either the God-squad is dwindling (better get on the door-knocking, Mormons) or the economy is really convincing folks to save and cook some hard-boiled eggs at home. Not much to say here, bacon was adequate, crab cakes were actual lumpmeat and not pollack, and the small dollaps of hollandaise were tasty but scrimpy. I will say this: EEEEWWWW Gross with the booth walls. I thought the sticky food and beverage residue complete with attached dust was reserved for Chinatown. Why don't managers check the walls around a table more often? This has always perplexed me. I have no idea if someone had shot coke through their nose, or perhaps enjoyed flinging their maple syrup around, but for heavens sake, it had been there for days. Yuck!

Well all I can say is service is slow, the food sucked. As we were eating one of the waiters was sweeping right next to the table. I mean I like my food seasoned with pepper, not dust. They were out of Heineken at 6:30 in the evening, I ordered a veggie burger but the were out of those too. I'm being generous by giving 2 stars. At least my beer was cold.

Was here for lunch with a couple of co-workers, I set my expectations very low b/c I've never liked chain restaurants. The food was not great, the salad I ordered had waaay to much salad dressing in it, as if they were trying to marinate the veggies. yuk! The service was pretty good since it wasn't that busy.

This place is average. We took a friend here for breakfast with the kids. There's nothing memorable about our experience except the fresh squeezed orange juice and the muffins. The setting's nice but the food isn't worth another trip.

Food was good, but service was pretty bad. Took 25 minutes to get food and it wasn't so busy. Refills didn't come very promptly, felt very "left out". Also have a feeling that corporate tells them to make people wait to have it look like there's a line.

Worst dining experience EVER. I literally wanted to throw up from the food here and the ambience did not help. It smelled really funky in there and everyone looked depressed. It was very sad and I regretted it from the moment I stepped inside. My expectations for this place were the same ones I apply to the Sizzler across the street: crappy but not horrible. I should've gone to Sizzler. I had a very sleepy sandwich that had no flavor or point to it. My boyfriend had a broccoli quiche and it was hands down, the worst thing I've ever tried. How do you mess up quiche? With all the fat and calories in it there should've been some decent flavor. instead, it made me gag and it all pretty much bombed from there. I'll never go to a Mimi's Cafe ever again and if anyone else had the misfortunate of eating the vomit inducing quiche, come over to my house because I make a quiche that'll knock the socks off of anything from Mimi's!

Oh how this place brings back memories of high school. I used to go to this place after school or after football practice, and what I loved was their burgers, fruit punch, and fries. The food was always good, and so was the service. I would of given this place three stars, but I'll bump it up one for the great memories.

ohhh dear corn chowder, why are you so good. i love the stuff. i want bowls and bowls of the stuff, but have to stick to a cup because i always end up getting a plate of food. oh and the soup, comes with a bread bowl of awesome. it's hot warm french bread and their signature carrot bread. yum to both. portions are enormous. it's cheap. both you can't really go wrong with. i go with the vegetarian burger. tasty, easy and can't miss. the fries here are a treat. my bf loves the meatloaf. whenever he feels like a homecooked meal we head over here for the meatloaf with mashed potatoes. he's weird and hates vegetables...yea a veggie hating meat eater dating a vegetarian, who knows. regardless, they usually sub something for him since he won't eat the veggies. this place is hellacious on weekends to get to because of the traffic going to costco, but on cold days it's definitely worth the wait. that soup will warm any cold soul.

Maybe it had something to do with arriving 40 minutes prior to closing, but this was by far my worst Mimi's experience. The server totally forgot my soup (the reason I wanted to come here) until AFTER ge brought our food. The food happened to be cold when it arrived due to our server gossipping at the counter with other staff members. Lastly, when my desert arrived, it was frozen....and it wasn't ice cream. I say no thank you to this Mimi's ever again.

I always passed by and wondered how the food and service is. Well one day we went in and the service is wonderful. It doesn't matter if you are going in with your family or just as a couple. It's relaxing and just a great place to go with your family. We especially loved the rolls they bring in before the food, they give you a different selection and well we finished these and were so full. When the food arrived omg the plates were huge and for the price wow. Loved it.

Food is generally decent, and this is definitely the kind of place I can have an indoors sit-down meal and bring my infant daughter. I have to give special props for the french onion soup and the free bread, both of which are superb. I did, however, make the mistake of ordering a taco salad-type dish a little while back. The waiter brought out a pre-fab taco shell with some lettuce and what I can only assume was Pace salsa. There was really not much else to this dish. I actually asked the waiter if it was a joke, halfway expecting to see cameras from some reality show to come out proclaiming that it was all some sort of a joke. No.... apparently not. I have NEVER sent a dish back at a restaurant before, but I was forced to do so over this pile of garbage. Stick to the sandwiches, and this place isn't half bad. I know that 2 stars seems a bit harsh for one bad dish, but the taco salad was not just bad, it was like a personal insult.

I experienced two of the worst meals of my life at this Mimi's, but I think that it's because I ordered off of the menu with healthy options. The calories are listed beside each item. Do not bother ordering anything less than 1000 calories, because it isn't worth it. The meat is always waaaay overcooked, so it helps if it's smothered in some sort of batter, gravy, or dressing. That is the only way that you'll get through a meal at Mimi's. Otherwise, you may as well stay home and cook your own rubbery chicken and microwaved frozen vegetables.

I always try to avoid large-scale 'family' chain restaurants like this and my experience at Mimi's Cafe only served to reinforce the reasons why. This review is coming a little late (we ate there in December), but I need to throw in the bad with the good, and this one falls squarely in the bad. The ONLY reason we came here is because we thought it would be child-friendly and needed to find something in the area quick. I can't even tell you what I ate because it was bland. How do you do New Orleans-inspired food and make it totally bland? Any self-respecting Angeleno (foodie or wanna be foodie) will come here only as a last resort. Service was fine, the ambiance was contrived, but the food was awful. Never coming back to this place again.

It's always wonderful to spend time with my mom. This morning, I picked her up and we went to Mimi's. What a pleasant morning it was! She ordered the crab and avocado omelette. It came with a side of potatos, juice, and toast. My waffle platter came with two eggs, and a choice of sausage or bacon. We gobbled it up and had a great time chatting away....and oh boy, I thought I talked too much, but I love her just the way she is! I love you mom!! [focus Junie]...so, back to Mimi's... - yummy food. - clean. - friendly server. - inexpensive. - cozy. I'll see you soon Mimi.

To my surprise...this place wasn't bad. Not bad at all. Came here for lunch on Christmas Eve because Home was closed for remodeling. We were starving and just wanted to eat already. It was a cute restaurant with French decor. I ordered the French Quarter, a burger with avocado, bacon, lettuce, tomato, double swiss cheese and 1000 island on grilled garlic sourdough with a side of fries. Yeah I was beyond hungry. This burger was very good. The BF had the chicken pot pie which was also delicious and served piping hot. Delicious enough to make me keep eating it after I was already 110% full. The service was good and the prices were reasonable. Oh the latte here was good too. If ever in the area, I'd eat here again. Oh but I think Hen A. from SF said his cousin chewed on glass in his ice cream or something at another location and tore up his tongue. Ouch. Ewww.

I really wanted to like this place, but no dice. The food like mentioned was a tad bland as I tried a new seasonal item that was Salmon & scallops served on ratatoullie raviolis which was decent. My first choice was Liver but I ordered a Raspberry tea that tasted horrible and the bread wasn't great either. We had a nice server, Lindsey but my friend's Hibachi Salmon came out too well done & dry. Despite it all, it was pleasant and the restaurant was hoping with business. Thought not a delicious bistro, I'd give it another try down the road.

A friend introduced me to this place. I tend not to like chains, but this and Cracker Barrel are the exceptions to my rule. Things to know before you go: Ask for "White Brian" (no joke) he's the best waiter. I love the pot roast sandwich. The corn chowder is out of this world. When Pumpkin Pancakes are on the seasonal menu order them. Be sure to go on your b-day because they give you a b-day only dessert and b-day card with a free coupon! All of this and they don't sing to you - thank god!

Beef burgundy was not cooked well - lots of fat - carrots were still very raw. Took forever for drinks. Appetizer came out with main course. Sloppy kitchen skills. Very disappointing. Napkins smelled.

I was pleasantly surprised Mimi's served a damn good Mocha Latte. We were looking for a quick bite and some coffee and Mimi's fit the bill over the alternative next door, the dreaded starbuck's. We took a seat outside and the patio was quite nice with plenty of flowers obstructing the view of the busy road. My rommie ordered up an iced drink which was she found damn good too. I figured you can't go wrong with a turkey club, and I was right. It was packed high with turkey meat just the way I like it. The only downside was the bird crap I sat on in my chair, which I didn't notice till we left. Also, the service was standard, nothing extraordinary, although the hostess seemed to check on us more then or waitress. I guess this is another place added to my hangover recovery spots!

this is a great spot for a nice lunch out with the fam or just with a few friends. there can be a wait during lunch hours on the weekdays, but the avocado burger they have is so worth it. the turkey sandwich isn't bad either and they really pile it on. interesting decor and friendly service. a typical spot for burgers, sandwiches, soups, etc.

heh heh. You knew what you were getting into when you went to the Denny's with the New Orleans motif. I took my gf here one night when we were very tired and resolved to a mediocre evening... and we got exactly that. We Rockafella'ed it up, ordered a couple bottles of wine, ate the nicest things on the menu, were distinctly underwhelmed, tipped the shocked kid well and laughed our asses off about it. All in all a good night. Don't expect Spago, and go to take the piss out of the place, and be decently well surprised that the food wasn't as bad as it could have been.

I always feel bad for the staff at this place. I feel like the foodies don't care about the service theses employees provide. Don't even think about coming here during the week to have a quick lunch...it never ends up that way. Instead, every professional is fighting for a seat in hopes for an in and out lunch. I got sick off the fish sticks! Please beware. They must be fried in the gawd oldes oil...one word...YUCK!

Met for breakfast/lunch on Saturday April 28, 2012. As I was waiting outside for my party this couple, man went directly to the patio with a full grown German Shephard dog while the lady went inside to check-in. When my party arrived I asked to be seated in the patio. I mentioned to the hostess about the dog in the patio, she just smiled. We were seated in the patio but moved inside because of the slow service and someone in my party allergic to dogs. Before we got up to go inside the manager, man with a green shirt with earpiece came out and talked to the couple, smiled and walked away. Dog was there for whole meal. Once inside the service was the same, slow. Food was good. Went to restroom, there was about 5 servers standing around talking and laughing. Oh yeah, restroom was dirty and it was only 12:30!!! Debating if I want to go back

The food here was good but the waiters and servers are really slow in this location. It always takes them more than 15 minutes just to get to-go boxes & the check.

I was here this afternoon for lunch.... Major upset! First, the service of our server and waiters were very fake. I felt like he memorized his script and read it out to us. I ordered the parmesan chicken. It was bland and the serving size was way to small. Our server checked on us once, no refills on our drinks and didnt even say thank you when we left. I wouldn't return unless they were giving me and my family a free meal.

It's a chain, duh. So it's loud and crowded. You'll probably wait to be seated and the menu will be huge. That's certainly enough to turn me off most chain restaurants. But I'll put up with it at Mimi's because where can you have crab cake eggs benedict for breakfast? With a complimentary juice? Or steak and eggs, in which the steak looks edible and tasty (unlike so many other breakfast steaks! )?Or a $5 mimosa?! All for around $10 a plate! Basically, I think Mimi's is exactly what one SHOULD expect from a chain restaurant. Quality, decent AFFORDABLE food in a kitschy cheesy atmosphere with ok service. Just because the Denny's of the world have downgraded our expectations, one shouldn't assume all chain restaurants are terrible. Mimi's really proves that just because a restaurant is a chain doesn't mean it has to suck.

Overall Mimi's just average. What sets it apart for me is the corn chowder. I am not a soup person, I really like their chowder. The entrees are big. I went to Mimi's because a close friend was going through phase where she loved coming here. I think that phase has run its course. It is close to Best Buy and Costco so it makes for a good shopping trip.

a couple reviews down said "white brian" is the best waiter. he is! i used to come here with huge groups of people and he was always so attentive and sweet, even when a lot of us would just order coffee. i used to call him "Bri" "Bri Bri" and sometimes "Bri Guy". i know its cheesy to "love" chain restaurants... but i love mimis! great salads, MUFFINS (buttermilk spice), french onion soup, the bread that comes is amazinngggg. and i think ive had burgers and stuff and havent ever been disappointed. the only thing i would caution against is any sort of mexican food, or the spinach artichoke dip. its waaaayyyy to greasy. but this is coming from someone who used to get that as an entree and eat it herself (only once...) if its your bday, they give u a coupon for a free one.

Slow service, high prices, mediocre food. Really, you can do better just about anywhere else. There is a Del Taco right across the street and the value is much better.

Im a huge fan of Mimi's I'd go to them more often if they werent so far out of my way. This location seems nice. Torrance location is kinda.. I dont know.. people there are a little different. People here are good. If you've never gone before. Sign up online and they'll send you a buy 1 get 1 free breakfast. Their lunch dinner stuff is good, but their breakfast are awesome!! Real sausage, not that brown and serve frozen crap that a lot of places pawn off.... cough, dennys, cough..... I actually got won of these coupons, (My birthday coupon expired so I felt entitled to cheat and get the newbie coupon). Their service is always so good at Mimi's. It can be spotty when they're busy as any place is. This places is such a great deal, especially for the food quality. I like to get the two eggs with sausage links, it comes with hashbrowns which are like breakfast french fries (more like chipped potatoes). these suckers are just so good. I normally hate cold potatoes. However, I brought home the left overs and raided it a few hours later.. they were just as good. They just have a really good flavor to them. You also get a apple or orange juice (I suggest orange, it taste fresh, the apple tastes like plain bottled juice). It also comes with a bread of your choice or one of their ( OMG fantastic) muffins. The muffins are so good we got a four pack to go (after all, I'd saved money by using a coupon) They are just as cheap if not cheaper than the store bakery muffins. My son loves to get their ciabatta breakfast sandwich. its got eggs, ham, cheese, spinach tomatoes. It comes with those yummy breakfast potatoes and a juice. My kid dont care much for spinach (or anything health), but he'll down this sandwich in nothing flat.

It's another chain I love! I love their quiche, I love their soups, and I love their salads. Oh, their breakfast... it's to die for. And the muffins! Basically, I like everything I've had here, especially the french onion soup everyone here is raving about. So freaking good. It can be a weird crowd, given its chain-ness, so don't expect a bunch of hipsters. But who cares if everyone around you has a bunch of kids or is old enough to be your grandparents, if you're slurping up yummy soup? Not I.

this chain is like TGI fridays or a higher-level denny's to me (same type of food too)...it's cheap&fast but a drive-thru burger joint. honestly tho, the food here COULD be sooo much better, don't u think??

We love it for breakfast. We've kind of shifted from the Potholder to Mimi's. Potholder is genuine Bohemian; Mimi's is fake country French. The Seasonal Benedict with asparagus is very good and i really like their breakfast potatoes. The rest of the family likes the pancakes. The sausage is good. The muffins are really great. The coffee is so-so. OJ is good. The menu is quite varied and has quiche which i also enjoy (although the quiche at Babette's Feast is way better.)

This eatery is basically an ever-so-slightly more upscale version of the French Market in West Hollywood (same ownership). Food is OK...presentation is good...basically mediocre. Staff does try, though.

This was my second time at this location, at first I was disappointed because, the hostess took us to a booth that it was being hammer by the sun, so I asked for another one, she gave me an attitude, really? I though to myself, lady, you will let someone sit you on a booth where the sun will hit your face??? She had no common sense.....not only she did it to us, but the next group, which as like us, refused to sit there....she needs to be retrain, if you ask me......finally we got to sit where we wanted, I was annoyed by it, but a previous visit made me stay, just cause I know the food is delicious ....then, the waitress and food made it up for it (mind, I didn't say anything to anyone about the little fiasco of the illuminating booth), our waitress was on point, checking up on us, bringing refills with out asking, all my side request were provided in a prompt manner, love it!!! The food, was everything I expected, delicious, I ordered a salad which I was going to share with my husband, I asked for an extra plate, but behold, they made sure they divided the salad in two plates prior serving it to us, instead of me doing it, I though that was great and mess saving!! They went beyond customer satisfaction...so i MUST say, they redeemed them selves, they may not have the smartest hostess but their service and food are outstanding!! Kudos to them! so i will be back soon, the hostess will not keep me away! :)

I GOT FOOD POISONING FROM EATING HERE!!! Actually, it was worse than food poisoning - it was some sort of virus, because it lasted for more than 48 hours, whereas good old regular food poisoning lasts for about 24 hours. It was the most miserable I have felt in my entire life. All I ate was pasta with some chicken...needless to say that chicken was CONTAMINATED!!! The doctors were positive my sickness came from that food source. I didn't eat chicken for months after that. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Plus, even if I didn't have an intensely horrible experience here, the food isn't that good anyway. Better to chow down on free samples at Costco across the parking lot.

Herbert Spencer is quoted as saying: "There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance -- that principle is contempt prior to investigation." Well color me Forrest Gump, because despite the fact that I have never set foot inside Mimi's cafe, I can assure you that it is loathsome. My psychic friends at Miss Cleo's hotline concur, so that is evidence enough for me. The place screams "I am Denny's whorish, gold-digging sister." From the bile-yellow paint to the garish Anglophilic efforts at "cottage-ness," I can't even finish this sentence, my presumptuous ire so boils. Mimi's embodies all that is dumbifying this nation. It is ass dressed up in a hat. If the Devil is running a diner chain in California, I suspect this may be it. I only wish I could put up negative numbers of stars.

Eh, this place wasn't horrible, but it wasn't anything special. That being said, usually if it's nothing special but the food is decent, I'll give it 3 stars. This place was a little below that in my book. The service sucked. Our server was nice, but made a lot of amateur mistakes. He brought our food to us and then never came back. We were seated in the corner and had to wave down any available server to get someone's attention. Then he came over and took my friend's plate but didn't come back for mine for awhile even though my napkin was on the table, my dish was pushed away from me, and I was clearly done with my food. Finally he comes over and takes my plate. Then brings out the bill and quickly leaves before we have the chance to ask him for dessert. We flagged down another server and asked for dessert. She brings my friend a fork even though she had ice cream. Then our original server comes over and asks us if we need anything else as if we were going to order more. It was just a mess. Nothing crazy, but definitely awkward. And the food was pretty much tasteless and forgettable. I think the best part of my meal was the wine and my salad. Won't be coming back. Don't recommend it.

My first impression of Mimi's was that I was at a theme park restaurant. Everything was so cheesy, but kinda cute. This being my first experience with the restaurant, I didn't really know what to expect. I had the salmon with veggies and baby baked potatoes. My salmon was a tad overcooked, but the baby baked potatoes were delicious. They look so boring at first, but are actually very flavorful and tender. My boyfriend had the sole with shrimp, and he devoured it. All in all, the taste was good and the atmosphere slightly overwhelming. We did have a great server though...attentive but not annoyingly so. I'm sure we'll go back.

I hate chains. This place will never get five stars from me, because it's a chain. But, man. The food is yummy (WORD). Portions are AMERICAN (FAT). The prices are very reasonable (PHAT). The service is always good. They have these really tasty muffins that come with most of the entrees. It's always packed, not because it's popular (although it is), but because it's good. Be wary of going there on weekends. The waits can be really long. But I don't judge establishments on their lines. Restaurants should be judge by their food and their service. So yeah. I recommend it, and I hate chains.

i know this is a chain and whatever but i actually kind of like it esp since its about 20 steps from my front door. -albacore tuna sandwich -jumbo garlic shrimp spaghettini with alfredo instead of marinara -french onion soup -THE BREAD (love the carrot raisin, esp if its warm. mmm) -french quarter can be a hit or miss DO NOT ORDER: -the omelettes. -any other salad besides the salad that comes with the citrus salmon...especially the tostada salad (gross) -any fish but the salmon or jumbo shrimp. mahi mahi is gross. can't remember much else right now. i've been disappointed on occasion.

It's a chain. And there are some awesome places with better food in LA... but Mimi's has it's special items I prefer to get from Mimi's. I love the pot roast here, it's incredible. I love the Waffle's here, amazing. I hate the coffee (it's that shitty typical diner coffee, and mimi's makes me think about gourmet coffee looking at they frenchness of the menu). I love the club sandwich, although not one of the "best" in LA, but damn good enough. I love the muffins and the tasty bread they bring out before dinner. I love ordering hot tea here, because they bring out all these options. I love the service, always nice and friendly and on top of their shit. I love the soups. All of them that I've had here were damn good. Mash potatoes, pretty good here too. So, all and all, I really really enjoy all the meals I've had at Mimi's, oh, and did I mention they have a great kid's menu, that's totally key!

good times for a chain restaurant. really. brunch is fabulous. dinner is terrific. a great place to go and chat the night away with your girlfriends. the desserts leave a lot to be desired- but their breads, especially the raisin carrot nut bread thing, are divine. ooooh. and i love their french onion soup!

Great food, I tend to come here for breakfast often with my family, although I've never eaten lunch or dinner here. Although it tends to get busy, the wait staff is either incredible, or incredibly HORRIBLE. Last time I went, they got my order completely wrong, and they undercooked the food. Whatever, you win some, and you lose some. The atmosphere is.. not that great, but it's Cajun style (I suppose?), and it's not all that bad. Amazing food, good prices, and a good place to go with the family. However, be warned that if your in a small family party (such as 3 people or so), and it's busy, they'll take you to the area with the huge long table that's usually occupied by a party or something. It gets very annoying, and if they don't change their service, I'll just get take out from here.

I went there for breakfast with friends. I liked that they have a fitness menu! Their omelettes are good. However, service was a bit slow. It's good for big parties as we were seated at a large round table with a Lazy Susan in the middle.
